ZotFile doesn't automatically move PDFs dragged to Zotero (and never has). Automatically moving only works for files that are attached by web translators, the default way of getting PDFs into Zotero.

ZotFile's file moving isn't affected by the beta. Only annotation extracting is disabled because that's now possible with Zotero proper.

Try the new Zotero Beta. It replaces ZotFile annotation extraction functionally with its own PDF reader and provides more precise page numbers.
