That's a Zotero feature in the Tools menu. The ZotFile feature you're looking for is in the item context menu.

I just installed zotfile and when I try to use the "Manage Attachments" drop do extract an annotation the only option I see is "Convert linked files to stored files."

Zotfile can rename files without moving them. Just be sure to set it to use Zotero storage in the _Zotfile_ settings.

You are describing the default Zotfile output which indicates that you have re-installed the original version and not your APA modified version.

In general, your workflow looks good. In step 5 you may have compressed the whole "zotfile-5.0.16-fx" folder instead of just the contents of the folder. This would cause the error in step 6.

Can the same feature be achieved using linked files for my PDFs and having them stored in the Dropbox folder I have created? I tried with and without Zotfile and neither orked.
