  2. Customize display date format independently of language

    by dstillman · October 22, 2021
As I say, Zotero doesn't currently use custom OS date settings — it just uses the built-in system language/region (e.g., "English (US)"). This is a limitation of the older Firefox framework on which Z
  3. 5.0.96.3 tells me to Update, and when I click on link, I get message that no updates are available.

    by KathleenKern · October 19, 2021
I have tried downloading Zotero in Safari, Chrome and Firefox on my Mac. Didn't work in the first two, that is, the didn't give me all the information on the citations. On Firefox, the 5.0.96.3 downlo
  4. Customize display date format independently of language

    by dstillman · October 19, 2021
You don't "create a custom locale" — you just choose a system language/region, and Zotero sets the locale based on that. It's just the locale detection code from Firefox, on which Zotero is based. Or
  5. comsume power sooo quickly in macbook m1

    by emilianoeheyns · October 17, 2021
It's not just a performance problem as in slowness -- browsers (and Zotero is still based on Firefox) depend hugely on hardware acceleration by the GPU, and since displaylink can't offer that, it offl
  6. Zotero beta keeps crashing on Mac

    by dstillman · October 15, 2021
Zotero is built on Firefox, and specifically an older version of Firefox, so we're limited in the degree to which we can fix things like this — the vast majority of Zotero code isn't at a level that c
  7. Missing/Extra Translators and Scannable Cite - db Cache not updated

    by adamsmith · October 15, 2021
    2) Particularly on Windows, that file doesn't have a .js.txt file extension, which Windows (or Firefox) appears to create automatically on download. If that's the case, simply remove the .txt part.
  8. Missing/Extra Translators and Scannable Cite - db Cache not updated

    by JulianMoore · October 15, 2021
NB Firefox was not running during the remove, start zotero, etc. investigation.
  9. Suggestion for new versions: Internet browsers bokkmark importers

    by adamsmith · October 15, 2021
FWIW, Zotero can import exported Firefox bookmarks. I honestly doubt that the effort of building sync, which would be very significant, is worth it.
  10. Can't delete group

    by jodihannah · October 14, 2021
I have the same problem. Like dkotouza above, I created a group in error, it never had other members or resources, but it won't delete. I've tried in both Firefox and Chrome, and I've tried over the l
  11. Command+backspace (⌘⌫) deletes entire line instead of only text before cursor

    by dstillman · October 13, 2021
It looks like this is a bug in the older version of Firefox on which Zotero is currently based. It's fixed in newer versions of Firefox, so when Zotero is updated to a newer version, this will be fixe
  12. Can't whitelist a self-signed certificate for WebDAV

It worked with a cert_override.txt genereated in Firefox 60esr!
  13. Can't whitelist a self-signed certificate for WebDAV

    by dstillman · October 11, 2021
Nothing has changed in this regard in years. I haven't tested lately, but it's possible you have to generate the override file from Firefox 60 ESR, not a newer Firefox version (similar to the instruct
  14. Can't delete group

    by CB3004 · October 11, 2021
I have the same problem, "Delete Group" does not work. I've tried Safari as well as Firefox.
  15. Can't whitelist a self-signed certificate for WebDAV

    by dot0nine · October 9, 2021
I tried to make a new certificate, added it to the exceptions in Firefox and then updated cert_override.txt in the Zotero profile directory -- no difference.

I've right-clicked on the Z Connector in Firefox but can't see a report. How do I access a Report ID from the Connector?
  19. Z. plugin for Firefox

    by zeugman · October 8, 2021
I tried re-installing the Firefox connector but no joy. As a test, I imported this page successfully - but still no import from Amazon pages. The latest page I was trying to import: https://www.amaz
  20. Two separate libraries for one user?

Zotero is my personal knowledge management tool and I use it for many different purposes. I also run a lot of Zotero workshops where I use my library to demonstrate things. I use Zotero in professiona
