It seems to be a ScienceDirect specific issue as ACM DL translator works fine.

I can contact the ACM and tell them about the issue ... but I doubt there will be a fix any time soon

ACM Digital Library is a pretty important resource, so I'd love to see this addressed (and I'm sure many silent others would too).
