    Are you using Word or LibreOffice? References in tables usually work fine in Word, but not always in LibreOffice.

    I'm fairly certain that there is literally no way -- and definitely no error message -- that you're going to damage Zotero by doing anything in LibreOffice, so you're likely misunderstanding something

    If you want to cite in Word/LibreOffice then you can select a citation style there. As long as the fields have the data entered correctly, Zotero will take care of the rest for you.

    We haven't supported OpenOffice is many years. LibreOffice is much better maintained, and we strongly recommend switching to that.
