Hi, Any possibility that making that this (making the quick text search persistent when changing collections) gets implement in Zotero 7? Thanks

There are some issues with how the pdf reader in Zotero treats some OCR pdf's. For most of the articles I download from JSTOR, Zotero highlights run off the edge of the page. The text often copies correctly, but the highlights are a mess. If I run t…

This is one of my main issues as well. It seems to be images that slow it down most. I have a lot of scanned books that were scanned in color even though they are all text. Converting them to B&W speeds them up tremendously and allows Zotero to …

Yes, it is very slow, but it is a known issue which is highly dependent on the Firefox PDF.js, which is the core of the Zotero reader. The developers have said that it will improve when in the next PDF.js version which will be incorporated in Zotero…

I would find this capability very useful. I find the capitals issue in many fields from many sites, for example, Brill, DeGruyter, Proquest and JSTOR. Author's names and series are the most problematic.

Hi, I just want to say thank you for an extremely valuable plugin. I can't tell you how much time and effort it has saved me. Very excited to hear that you are working on an update. Not sure what kind of changes or additions you will make, but the…

I experience the same problem for many older books that are only text but that have been scanned in color or even grayscale, even if the resolution is no more than 300 dpi. If I whiten the background or convert the pdf to black and white, the reader…

Zotero Night is already a great blessing for sore eyes! Thank you - Nicely done.

Very helpful, thank you

There appears to be some sort of error with the translator: Report ID: 849655203 I can confirm that up until just recently Zotero was picking up the whole book from De Gruyter. The last few days, I also noticed that the extension was only grabbing …

Understood - thanks you both for your replies and explanations.

Thanks for the reply Adam. I'm not sure I understand though. (1) When I add a pdf and Zotero searches automatically for the citation data, it also changes the PDF title of the attachment. Why should adding a pdf through the browser plugin be any di…

Michael - That feature exists in the latest version. Just right click for the context menu and you can split vertically or horizontally. It is a great time saver! I too am very grateful for Zotero 6 and the constant updates and improvements.

I disabled all plugins and the problem persists. However, I have found something more. The problem only occurs if I search for the PDF first. If I simply scroll to it without searching and filtering either in MY Library or in a Collection, it works …

I can confirm the issue. I exported a collection with 243 attachments without annotations: Progress bar appears, entire process finishes successfully within one minute or so. Debug ID D1601804220 Exporting the same collection with annotations: n…

Yes, that would be fantastic.

Excellent - thank you for the quick reply.

This is great - Thank you!

I can confirm for Hebrew that the highlighting in the online viewer https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html is functioning more correctly. Some issues depend on the type and quality of OCR. Though highlighting works in proper direction, c…

Is the RTL language rendering problem inherent in pdf.js or zotero? discussed here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/98567/rtl-language-highlights-not-working-correctly#latest I am asking because so I can plan accordingly if there is no chanc…

Hi, just following up to see if there is anything else I can do to help you on this. It seems to me that it must be related to how Zotero flags the language of a pdf and/or does not recognize RTL languages. For example, articles with English heade…

Okay, thank you. I have seen this in several pdf's that seem to share that quality. Is there a size limit, memory limit, or something else that I can use to gage how to reduce the images?

No, RTL in notes does not help. The order of the words is correct but the letters of each word are backwards. For example, למעשה is copied and pasted as השעמל, or in English it would be This is both in notes and highlights. In English it would be l…

Yes, I have reported this and sent samples in. It is a RTL language problem that they are aware of.
-
+1 I would also be very happy to see it available for other title fields like "Series"
-
I would find horizontal lines as section separators very useful.

Thank you - I've sent the materials.
