Just a follow-up. Deleting all htmls with 0 bytes fixed it and now file syncing is working. I've no idea why I had them.

More details: I found that the error happens when file syncing is started, but works fine when syncing only with the zotero server. Thanks, Hernán.

I've just installed Firefox 3.5b4 and I can confirm that the 20-30 second delay I was experiencing when adding a new item went away (I was using Firefox 3.0.10).
