Also, only reference items have that sidebar feature. Standalone notes, links and files do not
-
I mean…not really? If it’s in a subcollection, it’s hard to see; you have to scroll through to find it. Maybe a mark of some kind next to the collections and subcollections it’s in, and if you select that, it jumps you there. I dunno.
-
The sidebar also doesn’t show saved searches (and shouldn’t), whereas a context menu item should.
-
I just expected to see it along with “Add to collection.” It’s more of an interface nicety (which Zotero could use more of) than a necessary feature.
-
That does indeed perform the described function (and I just learned that clicking on “My Library” takes you to that item in your library; thanks), but I was specifically asking for it in the context menu.
-
+1 on this. This should work like iTunes, where you can select “Show in Collection,” a submenu which lists all collections the item is in (including the main library and any saved searches), and selecting one pops you into that collection with the i…

I’m actually trying to put it in a Better Notes template, but I assume the answer is the same.
-
Digging into this, APA has everything seemingly correct by Bluebook rules (at least according to the comments), which should be able to be easily imported into any style (I just did so with my custom style)
-
>Personally, I don't store author information for legal items in my data That makes sense, but Zotero imports it automatically, at least from CourtListener, so you’d have to manually remove it.
-
I didn’t say that you were wrong, I am saying that this style no longer serves my purposes :(
-
Well, it looks like I've shot myself in the foot. The reason I was using this is that it did *not* put the DOI at the end. Oh well.
-
A second error: When the Original Date extra field is used, that date should appear in the bibliography in parentheses before the publication date, as shown in the PDF linked above.
-
It does indeed add it as a related item! Thanks!

+1. Hopefully Zutilo becomes compatible with v7!
-
And 7.0.11 shows the same behavior.
-
No; I rebooted in safe mode, and even logged into another account to launch Zotero with a new library. Same results. Though now I’m seeing that the popup menus in *all* the preference panes work, even third-party ones. It’s only in “dialog windows”…
-
No, that works, but although it functions as a popup menu, it doesn’t have the UI of a Mac popup menu, like those in the Style Editor and the Style Preview windows do. However, I just noticed that the popup menus in the Export pane of Preferences *…

Sorry, when I restarted the computer, I didn’t put Zotero back in troubleshooting mode. 692639357 >Also, though, you've clearly been using Zotero, so presumably this is a new problem? No, but I only noticed it in the Better Notes template ma…

Restarted in Safe Mode; no change. Report ID: 1653974440

This can be done fairly easily now with the [Copy Item Link](https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-actions-tags/discussions/115) script using the Zotero Actions and Tags plugin.
-
(Not to *insert links to notes in other notes*; we’ve established it can’t do that.)
-
Sadly, the note links only work when the plugin is enabled, meaning they don’t work on mobile. Does Zotero not have the native ability to link to notes?
-
Also [YouTube](https://youtube.com/watch?v=oEWm3yPUosg&si=wzqPyqTKbYOGzQEU). I just tried this link on the Mac, and it works great. On iOS, it just imports as a web page with no information.
-
Ah. Got it to work. The trick is to ensure that you check “show only top-level items."
-
Could you explain *how* to do this with Advanced Search and Saved Searches?
-
So if you say “Tag is not/does not contain X,” that means “find items with any tag that isn’t X. So even if it’s tagged X, it will still show up. Is there any way to do negative tag searches? This is pretty basic, and I need it because I tag things…
-
This feature has been implemented, but I don’t see how to use it. I’d expect it to be in the contextual menu of the item, but it isn’t. How do you activate this feature?
-
The Style plugin doesn't show directionality. I'm not looking for a general tool to find all references to anything, I want to look at any paper in my collection and see how it got there—what the reference chain was that led there.

Aha! The fix is easy: Add the emoji to the *end* of the tag, not the beginning. Search then works just fine, and so does the emoji-detection
