This version has only the et-al issue fixed: http://gist.github.com/raw/117545/68aa27e16abe4ef54800c80e54ad91663abf8a3a/diabetes-care.csl

Well, the latter is how the references are formatted in the pdf. So what are the changes you wish to see? Just the removal of et-al?
-
Try installing this style. It's based on Vancouver, but should format journal articles like in the paper you linked to previously.

what word plugin should we use?http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation#plugins_for_zotero_2.0_beta in what order should we do yje installation? The order doesn't matter.

The benefit of the current restricted list of variables is that it forces a centralized approach. CSL and Zotero aim for good data portability, which is much easier to accomplish with a uniform data model. I can even imagine that elements like 'doi'…

BTW, I've always found Zotero/CSL a bit lacking when it comes to distinguishing ISBN10 and ISBN13 (they don't), and print/online ISSNs (not to mention ISSN-L). Some translators just dump both ISBN10 and 13 into the ISBN field, which isn't pretty. I …

I justed checked the CSL schema, and it doesn't contain the issn variable (I thought it did, but the schema only allows for ISSN-metadata in the info-section of the style). So the schema would have to be extended, and the ISSN field in Zotero will h…

Is MakeCSL supposed to be limited to selecting a list of premade macros, without any adaptation of the selected macros? Also, it might make a good case study to start with the citation section, as each style will only contain a small set of macros: …

1.5b2.1 is an old release. Try upgrading to 2.0b4 (e.g. via the home page: http://www.zotero.org/).
-
Should I officially address zotero.org? The Zotero team follows all threads in this forum, so you wouldn't need to do anything else. This is as official as it gets. I still can't reproduce this issue though.

Issue 1 can't currently be solved in CSL, and it might never be. The author of CSL has expressed some concern with regard to supporting these types of difficult-to-implement unruly rules: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3873/still-more-bugs-with…

If I now add another source of the author from another year (BMU 2004), it changes the sources (depending on the new one) either into: (BMU 2008a) (BMU 2008b) (BMU 2008) or into: (BMU 2008) (BMU 2008) (BMU 2008).That seems like a bug. I don´t know w…

For me Harvard Reference format 1 (Author-Date) disambiguates just fine (e.g. (Asimov 2000a) & (Asimov 2000b)). Are you also using this Harvard style (which is shipped with Zotero), and not one of the other Harvard styles from the Zotero Style R…

Patch: http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/web/Scopus.patch I think the encoding of the RIS-file was giving problems. There is still the problem of the nested doGet in the processDocuments (the latter is needed as first the citation-download …

Dan, I was able to iron out most of the issues myself, and I put up a patch at zotero-dev (patch is towards 1.0.10SVN): http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/web/interfaceText.patch Changelog: - The "Remove Collection...","Remove Saved Search..…

There are quite a few translators that call upon other translators, like that for Nature (which calls the RIS-file-format-translator). I guess you could do something similar with the NCBI Pubmid translator.

I write my styles in jEdit, test them in the Zotero Reference Test pane, and validate them at validator.nu. The latter two tools are described in more detail at the link I gave you in my previous post.
-
With regard to your problem: your style lacks a definition of the ISSN macro. However, ISBNs do appear when I test the style. If you're not afraid of XML, you might want to try writing the style by hand*. The Simple Style Generator doesn't seem to …

Can you paste the whole style here, and report the link? That will make it easier to troubleshoot your problem.

There was an issue with file syncing with the previous beta of Zotero (2.0b3). See also: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/7094/cannot-sync-files-to-local-webdav-server/?Focus=31274#Comment_31274

Maybe it has to do with the text editor you're using? Try installing this file (save to disk, then drag into a Firefox window): http://gist.github.com/raw/115052/734980fe0a08048780ba08bb6192117e91fc73fd/german-law-style.csl This installs the style j…

You can create a style without basing it on another, though.Clearly some people disagree with that statement.
-
I uploaded both styles to the Zotero Style Repository, in which the three changes you outlined were made. They should appear shortly.
-
Could you paste it here: http://gist.github.com/ ?

I just tried the first link on my home computer (without institutional access). The "Select Items" box contains a lot of junk: for each paper, also a "Purchase PDF" and "Related Articles" link is included, and saving a real item fails.

Ah, yes, it seems CC uses URIs: http://wiki.creativecommons.org/License_Properties#Inspecting_the_URL BTW, should it be allowed at all to use certain more restrictive licenses? E.g. Attribution-No Derivative Works (http://creativecommons.org/licens…

Would it be useful to: - have a default license for the Zotero Style Repository for styles that haven't set a license? I guess this could be added upon committing a style just like the element is filled. - specify some licenses in CSL? This will ma…

Well, in that case, count me in under "Attribution-Share Alike".

As far as I know this still applies: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6533/scaffold-in-firefox-31/?Focus=28304#Comment_28304 I personally prefer using Scaffold, as it rather conveniently shows debug-output, so I write my translators in Zotero 1…
