"when a publisher wants "frozen" content that can be rendered in a reproducible way." This seems to be the case, e.g., with Springer. Entries in the \begin{thebibliography} look like \bibitem{seaborgNuclearFissionTransuranium1989} G. T. Seaborg, …

Luca I regularly remove PDFs despite having large storage volumina. The procedure for dealing (removing) with PDFs is the following. Part I: Decide if you want to retrieve PDFs in first place when adding new items. If you don't want the provided P…

Sometimes it stops importing or it takes a minute or two and will then show up. Do not insert DOI multiple times, otherwise you have duplications appearing. "hundreds" sounds successful.

@erush91: Great. The simple "search and replace" of date with year should work, too. Of course if you bib is ~1000 entries with names that include "year" or "date" often, this is a new challenge. I face a new problem now. The BibTeX export will k…

Fyi. This post for more information: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/48645/bibtex-export-date-and-year/

Hi, same question over here (giving Word "a another try"). The thing I wonder is the integration part. It seems possible to select Word files (e.g. Ch1, Ch2, etc.) using Insert > Object > Text from file and create a new Word from it. But I wou…

Me asking similar question, nearly ten years later. For the record, the answer (workaround) in above-mentioned comment works (i.e., color change to white).
-
"make the text for the citations white" Old school genius. Thanks. Of course, two figures come up, say "[1]" and another "[1] Reference", but both [1]'s can be colored separately.

Right! Yes, I was using ctrl+a, however double checking this the page-source seems to add one blank-line at front and one at the end. Removing the two lines, the XML is imported correctly.
-
So looking at the "actual XML" as page source (ctrl+u), then copying and inserting from clipboard, still gives an error "...please ensure that the file is valid..." (The metadata/identifiers explanation is clear.) (For reference: Zotero v6.0.26) …

Wow, fantastic news! Can we run v6 and v7b in parallel, as two separate installations?
-
"The current Zotero forums are extremely bare-bones." Good. Never change a running system.
-
It seems to increase the loading time of Zotero, meaning it's up after 3 sec. without BBT. I don't use it regularly, so disabling BBT is Ok. I only followed recommendations above and tried disabling it.
-
BBT off increases like subjective ~3x. Library contains 2.6k items. BBT stays off then.
-
Helpful, thanks!

Yes, the columns.

Flexibility (manual adjustments or settings) of attributes would be nice indeed, however I don't know the architecture. Same for example for Books, with a dedicated DOI field, an archive.org field, etc.

Same on my client, stuck with update. I cancelled/closed and now it's 6.0.20. Asking for a different thing: The update is often leading into the scenario of un-/re-installing the Chrome/Opera extension, since the authentication seems to get broken.…

Just here to confirm the trick by adamsmith March 26, 2014 still works, successfully searched and removed attached PDFs. In the Settings, is it enough switching off the second option (below) to avoid PDFs in future? Settings>General>File Han…

FYI. I faced the same issue after update to latest Zotero version using latest Opera. Ping still available. I deinstalled, reinstalled and reauthorized the extension. It works (again).
-
Thanks for clarifying, I meant the same. Good, I keep an eye on it in case it happens again.

I guess so, ... I'm aware, Opera gets low support. The only thing is, it works on another machine (some software configuration as mentioned above) without the FW-exception. How to understand this interface, does it need Zotero started first, then t…

Hello, using the latest softs, Zotero 6.0.10 and Opera 89.0.4447.71 with Zotero Connector Version 5.0.97, Windows 10 64-Bit. After starting Zotero and Opera, they were not connecting "Zotero is currently unavailable", however http://127.0.0.1:23119…

I was just about to report the same issue.. added Zotero as exception in the Firewall, but no clue if this did the trick. On another machine, I did not do it and it works fine.
-
Hi, just confirming: Exporting through BBT as "Better BibTeX" instead of "Better BibLaTeX" uses 'year' instead of 'date'.
-
Wow, that's right, I just noticed it, too. The Get Data Feature works fine.
-
Hi all, thanks

Hi, similar problem with CSV export. Latest Zotero (6.0.10). Export missing data such as 'page num' and many more. Some exports are 100%, some stop after author field. (I haven't exported much in earlier versions, so cannot say when this entered). …
-
Came across this post, same question: sorting # of pages would be nice. "Num pages" is part of CSV, but that's external.

Thank you @hsiangyu_wong , it's working on my systems. PS. If you also want previewing in Windows Explorer using Adobe Reader, it can be done too, see https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/enable-pdf-thumbnail-preview-windows-explorer.html
