I can still reproduce this with version 1.0.8 Build 10. Is anyone else experiencing this?
-
This also seems to occur when simply switching apps: 1. Scroll so that two pages are visible (bottom half of one page and top half of the next page). 2. Switch to a different app, and then back to zotero. 3. Notice that the page position has change…

Thanks! Email sent.

Speaking of delimiters, is there a reason why \[ and \] are not supported as math block delimiters? My understanding is that $$ is plain TeX, while \[ \] is preferred in LaTeX. It's not a big issue at all, I've just been using \[ and \] for about …

Slightly related to this: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/93120/feature-request-preview-references-or-figures-in-build-in-pdf-reader

Thanks dstillman. If my use case is not common, then perhaps this isn't a critical issue. However, I noticed that the icon in the iOS app (1.0.6) obscures more text than the desktop app (6.0.15 on Linux): iOS: https://postimg.cc/GBGW4yYW desktop…

The comment icons have now been introduced in version 1.0.5 on iOS and also obscure the text. Would making these icons transparent interfere with usability in any way? https://postimg.cc/pmJjZMgt

I think hitting 'Enter' to leave the editing state would be quite disruptive for a lot of people as it's probably the most common way to insert a new line. Does hitting ESC to leave the comment dialog not give you the same satisfaction?
-
My annotation comments often require new lines and hitting enter is the most natural way to do this, so I would oppose this.
-
Perhaps I'm confused, but doesn't this exist already? After clicking an internal link, if I tap on the screen a link appears at the bottom left to go back to the previous page: https://postimg.cc/Ty7MRStd

Thanks dstillman for the insight, much appreciated. One more thing I may be able to help with is that I could add a 'render markdown' button on the annotation to preview the math in a popup. Would that be helpful? @hsiangyu_wong, are you suggesting…
-
Thanks for the suggestions, @hsiangyu_wong. Before you spend time on this, I'd be curious to hear what the zotero devs think about supporting math in annotations. Not sure if it was clear, but it would be nice for the math to be rendered in the iO…

I just added support to Mathpix and Bing equation OCR in the Better Notes plugin. Might that be helpful? Thanks @hsiangyu_wong. For my use case, having native support for math in annotations would be ideal. I often highlight text and add a comment…

This sounds related to the following, except for notes instead of annotations: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/93792/text-for-annotation-is-cleared-if-added-too-soon https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/403805/

Sorry for the bump. I was just wondering if the opaque icon is causing issues for anyone else. Is it as simple as modifying the svg path element here? https://github.com/zotero/pdf-reader/blob/21b8597f9d0d233823d1ad7cad86584b2eec1814/src/componen…

2) Will math support also be added to annotations? Seconding this. Many of my annotations involve providing further detail on specific equations, so math support in annotations would be a huge help.

The following thread sounds quite similar, and additional Debug IDs can be found there: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/403805/
-
@dstillman, I think I was able to capture a Debug ID for this: D1199491444 The description of what happened is the same as in the first comment (and illustrated in the video in the second comment) 1. Highlight some text to create an annotation. 2…

@livey_liwei, what version of Zotero are you using? I'm still experiencing this with 6.0.13. There was a period of a few months where this stopped happening, but it feels like it is happening more often for me with 6.0.13.
-
Thanks @mjthoraval. I'm only able to get the finger pointing cursor for the tag selection pane. I haven't yet found the right cursor location for it to appear in the other panes. Regarding the visible metadata, I'm not sure how that happened. Th…

This is an existing issue. I have noticed this occurring slightly more frequently recently as well. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/93792/text-for-annotation-is-cleared-if-added-too-soon#latest

No, not using the Night plugin. That's just how Zotero looks with my Linux theme. Are you unable to reproduce this?
-
Thanks @fcheslack and @martynas_b. I can confirm that this only occurs with annotations that have a comment.

This seems related: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/398735/#Comment_398735

I noticed that the keyboard shortcuts are broken if in step 3, I also click on anywhere else in the PDF.
-
@dstillman, is there any hope for annotations to gain math support?
-
I noticed that this has improved in 6.0.13. However, there is still a situation where the keyboard shortcuts are broken: 1. Open a PDF with the built-in reader. 2. In the PDF (not in the annotation sidebar), click on a highlighted annotation to se…

I should have clarified that the above was the desktop app (6.0.12 on Linux). I noticed that the icons don't appear in the iOS app, which is a little inconsistent but fortunately nice for this specific case. https://postimg.cc/HjZn0wkV

Thanks @dstillman. The attachment in the first email I sent was too large so I sent another email with a smaller file.

I was able to highlight the exact region using the desktop app (6.0.10 on Linux), and it appears correctly in the iOS app.
