related to this, it would also be good for suggestion to pop up when typing tag names not from the beginning but any string from any part of the tag name. This works for the search text field under the tag list (left-hand side), but not when assigni…

sure, no worries, thanks adam

Thank you very much!

Sorry one more update - the style actually does use abbreviated journal names, but those names were not available for my items (imported with Zotero from the ScienceDirect website). Is there an alternative to entering those abbreviated names manuall…

I was actually able to edit the style's CSL code (using chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul launched from Zotero Preferences \ Cite), but I can;t figure out how to make those two changes
-
That style seems in fact to list all authors rather than "et al" if there are 3 or more authors, and also displays the full journal name rather than the abbreviated name. I tried editing these two particular aspects of the style in the visual …

Thanks! This is going to be a psychology poster, but none of the usual styles of the field looked like the style I wanted (minimal length, no title). I guess it doesn't matter that the style belongs to a different field as long as the result is form…

This does seem to be specific to Zotero. Again my Publication column has become invisible (deselected in the list of columns), while the Call Number column has become visible. Meanwhile, Firefox's Bookmarks window maintains the same columns even whe…

Would it be possible for future version of the Word plugin to create a "Zotero" style in Word, such that all citations (as well as the bibliography) are rendered with the font settings included in that style? Otherwise, it seems that if the Nor…

It's not easy to diagnose or replicate this problem. When I repeatedly switch between monitors, the column widths change proportionately, and none of them becomes too small, which is what you;d expect given the small difference in horizo reso. This …

I'll try to switch between the monitors tomorrow, to see how that window reacts, and will let you know

Not sure, as I rarely open that window...

I would also like to see a Zotero add-in for Powerpoint, in case the new PPT version (2013) has enabled fields/scripting so that automatic updating of reference numbers can be done. Otherwise, I guess that using workarounds such as the one suggested…

THat's correct. So perhaps I should ask this question to the makers of PDF Xchange instead of here?
-
Got it, thanks!!

Hi Adam, I find myself faced with the same problem, and having found this thread with your advice from 2 years ago, I searched the repository for a Harvard style that sorts alphabetically. However, searching using the word "sort" only brings ou…

I see what you mean, but the autocomplete in, for instance, the later versionf os Firefox, is also a "anywhere search" model, for instance I can type "book" in my address bar and it will suggest Facebook from my history. Up to you of course, a…

I prefer the "left" behavior, and I'd personally prefer it to be on the "right" as well, because given the hierarhical way I have my tags set up (in the form A|A, A|B, A|C), it takes quite a long time to get to tag A|C ("A" would be the name of the …

ok, thanks Adam

OK, so what I did to get to the Ovid page was: - search google scholar for "Measuring individual differences in implicit cognition: The implicit association test" - click "Find it @ Oxford" link corresponding to first result - click "Full text…

Sorry, I actually had Ffx 19. Upgraded both Fx and Z to latest version, and tag problem is solved, works just like before. As ever, many thanks everyone for the prompt help!
-
Enter used to do that for me as well - not sure what caused this to stop happening. I would have been very suprised if the devs thought of this as a new "feature". I am on Win XP, Fx 20.0, Z 3.0.14

Shift+enter doesn't seem to automatically create the next Tag field to type into.. I'm pretty sure that before the last update (or: a while ago), hitting Enter after typing a tag name would do just that though..

Thank you so much, I didn't even know about the repository, great to know Zotero doesn't have to make way for sloppy Endnote :-p
-
Thanks! Turns out 1 in 5 of my papers have missing page numbers, I don't know how this happened - I guess the websites I'm using to import papers (mostly Google Scholar and ScienceDirect) often have this information missing
-
Thanks Adam! My question was also about how to do that clean-up automatically or at least not 100% manually - with hundreds of items in my library, we're talking hours and hours of work that I'm sure can somehow be automatised - are you saying this …

And another crash - error code 2007103189 Can anyone please confirm whether reporting these errors is helpful at all to the devs?
-
I see, thanks Adam

And again, another crash in similar circumstances (i.e. I had barely opened the Zotero tab, when I got the error message in the white space). Error code is now 276435855. Can anyone please confirm whether it's actually of any use reporting…

I was wondering whether anyone has any response to this issue of having multiple variations of a journal's name, which I think many people are having.
