Oh sorry, sloppy reading on my part. Campbell, J.L. and Pedersen, O.K. (2007) The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success. Comparative Political Studies 40(3): 307–332. Mares, I. (2001) Firms and the welfare state: When, why, and how does soc…

Ah, okay. Thanks Simon and adamsmith! Sigh to having to work with word documents...
-
Oh, I'm sorry, sloppy reading/bug reporting. This might actually not the same issue. I get the error message when using LO Writer 4.0.3.3 with a .docx document originally created with Word (version unknown).
-
Just an addition: This problem also appears when you try inserting a citation into a foot- or endnote -- a rather common use case.
-
Woo, ticket created in less than 6 hours! Thanks everyone.

No, I meant free-form text fields, the most common variety probably being username fields. Like this: First name: Last name:

I was primarily thinking of HTML forms in Firefox or Chrome, and as Zotero used to be a FF extension I guess I thought of Zotero fields should behave in the same way. I don't know -- it just seems sensible to me: after having used the arrow key…

@dtoy Isn't the problem with this that you have to enable/disable ZFF in Firefox every time you do the switch? This would be way too annoying for me.
-
Dan, thanks for looking into it. I thought I had been patient enough, but apparently that wasn't the case. Everything is back to normal. Harald.
-
Ah, Dan beat me with his comment. Thanks for the update and I can only agree with your assessment of Babelzilla. Good luck with coming up with a good alternative! Harald. PS My point about rudeness was not about abandoning Babelzilla, but …

http://www.babelzilla.org/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=2328&view=findpost&p=56572 The post is pretty recent (09/16). Harald.

I'm all in favor of such a option. Here my two cents about the concrete implementation: 1. create a option in preferences to globally switch on/off quicksearch. 2. When quicksearch is turned off (or when you use the "-prefix in quicksear…

I wondering if and to what degree universities are locked into contracts that might specifically prohibit the mentioning/promotion of competing products. Here at Cornell the library has a refworks subscription and the only other product which gets c…

@Adam: I'm pretty sure ordinal number formatting is localized (Frank commented on the comma issue). Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to produce correct results (see above) on my en-US version of FF. Have you confirmed that you're using the same v…
-
@Pablo: That's good to hear. @Adam: Which language version of FF you have installed doesn't matter. Strings like ed./hrsg. etc. are taken from the language specific files that are controlled by the user agent locale setting. No matter which FF versi…

For what it's worth: My OpenOffice-Plugin (OOo 3.1, latest plugin version, on Windows Vista) produces correct edition results.
-
Okay, I ran a diff and the files are identical. So in principle I don't see any reason why the edition thing isn't working for you. I'm a bit out of ideas. One rather wild guess: something's wrong with the NeoOffice plugin. You could test this by cr…

Adam, I initially misunderstood problem 2. And something weird seems to be going, since you weren't able to reproduce Pablo's result and I'm not able to reproduce your result. This is what I get when creating a bibliography in the respective style: …
-
Okay, I just remembered a discussion about a related issue (date formats) from a while ago: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/4937/multilingual-styles-and-dateformat/ So with the CSL people there is awareness of the problem and maybe there will …

Hi everyone, I'm the German translator for Zotero. Your two problems are not an issue of the translation of the extension but of the bibliographic style. These are two separate matters. The solution would be to create a separate "Chicaco-german" CSL…

Thanks for the clarifications. Looking forward to the straightforward or not-so-straightforward updates :-)
-
noksagt, I suppose your comment is directed at CB but I just want to emphasize that I'm not frustrated at all, quite on the contrary. Zotero is getting better with each release and I always had the feeling that user suggestions and complaints are ta…

I don't think we're talking about the exact same thing, but our requests seem to be somewhat simillar: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6642/linking-to-files-in-db-directly-zoteroattachment/#Item_1 I haven't gotten any responses. Maybe the two…

Seems like 2.0b3 has taken care of the duplication problem. Thanks!
-
Yeah, I agree, the bug is indeed annoying. I wonder if people are using the function for anything other than dealing with edited volumes. Ideally, that problem would be solved on a more fundamental level, like introducing parent-child relations with…

Ah, that's great. Thanks!

alexuw, this hadn't been fixed in b1. Quite on the contrary: the problem, at least for me, showed up for me the first time in beta1 (I didn't use the preview version, though). Too bad this wasn't taken care of in b2.
-
A little update: I think this problem is related to my computer going to sleep (suspend to RAM) with Firefox/Zotero still running. Every time it wakes up again, the sync symbol just keeps spinning. The way to fix it is to close and restart FF. --Ed…

Thanks for the reply, but right-clicking the top of the window doesn't give me an "always on top" option. Is this OS-specific? I'm running Vista, and a friend with Linux apparently does have the option.

Yes, Zotero has "http://%h.proxy.library.cornell.edu/%p" listed as "multi-site" "configured proxy." And deleting that entry while not un-checking the two boxes solved the problem for now. I.e. the entry in the list is back but the redirects are work…
