The 500 error comes after every paste. Sometimes it breaks the pasted citation, sometimes not. When you ask for Debug ID from Zotero, I assume you want the information from Tools>Developer>Error Console. Producing the error does not add anyt…

I don't know if this further confuses, or adds some useful clues: Always, in the past, (in the v1 of gdocs integration) pasting a citation was accompanied by a short delay and a 'please wait' before the paste was complete. Now, with v2 toggled off…

Note - same error problem using chrome on windows 10 machine
-
OK, the last time I looked at it, I think the V2 version was greyed. I am running the 5.0.96. When I checked the V2 box, and rebooted my gdoc, I still got the same error message. Worse, I get an error when I just try to add a citation now. (Cntrl-A…

When I rebooted gdocs, though, as I obviously suspected, zotero wasn't available. not sure what other switch to toggle
-
So the only thing to toggle was "Enable Google Docs Integration". I unchecked it and still got the error. Strangely, it does not always break the pasted citation.
-
This time it the citations became unlinked when pasted
-
Debug ID is D430745611
-
Let me amend slightly: I just did a paste, got the error, but the citations were intact. Previous times they were not.
-
Oh, makes sense. When I used Word and OpenOffice, I always chose "highlight fields" options, but Gdocs offers no such option. Thanks

Here is link to video. The random changes are not happening, but what is happening is the opposite of what you just described. Clicking in a citation for the first time pops "edit with Zotero", but successive clicks bring up the link. https://drive…

The random popup response occurs whenever I click into a citation in Gdocs. I opened up Connector options>advanced. Couldn't find "report ID" but I enabled "debug output logging" and clicked "Submit output" after going back and clicking into s…

I hope I have done this correctly, but I got an error report ID 1558610994

Ok. Found a fix. The old link is broken. Try again with these commands wget -qO- https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/zotero-deb/install.sh | sudo bash sudo apt update sudo apt install zotero

adomasven: Answered my own question when I did the windows install --- it is is a whole new fresh install of zotero. Yes, it seemed to fix the problem with Google Docs citations on 6 trails. It was intermittant, so I cannot say 100% it is fixed, b…

adomasven: On my chromebook I downloaded and extracted the Beta connector, but not sure how or if I install it into my linux desktop app or if it is installed to chrome. Haven't tried windows yet, either. Thanks

False alarm all the way around. Rebooted computer, reopened LIBRE (yes, not OO) and everything worked. Something must have been corrupted in the memory for that session. Thanks.
-
It happens differently with different styles. Using a numbered style, like BioMed Central, it skips through changing each reference till it reaches the last citation field in the document. Using a non-numbered style, like Am. Psych Assoc, 6th ed, …

LO 5.4.3.2 with Windows 10, and same version on Linux Ubantu running on chromebook (Linux works great on a chromebook, using LibreOffice and Zotero, for anyone looking for cheaper computer options)
-
Thanks I'm switching over from a lifetime of Windows to Linux, and obviously have no idea about getting the latest version of the programs I'm downloading, Second nature on Windows. Sorry for obvious question.

So, update on this problem - just updated to v5.0.8, which did not start as admin, and no problem accessing Zotero from Word. Don't see reference to this problem "Could not find a running Word instance." in changelog, but perhaps one of the bug fix…
-
Just checked that, and yes it did. So, I clicked Refresh in my zotero menu in word, for the already reference-populated document, and the problem was solved. Thanks
-
yes, thank you, running both as admin is a 'fix' that works, and I remember now, a year or more ago I used to run both as admin, probably for the same problem. Then I did a reinstall of my windows 10, and problem went away. Odd thing that the pro…

Error happens in new document as well.

Having the same problem - on and off, running Zotero Standalone, and Word 2007. Been successfully loving Zotero for years. In the past, the problem seems to fix itself when I reboot. This time, no such luck. Any help greatly appreciated. (Could…

Thank you. Running Zotero as admin fixed it. It is interesting that this works. I had a problem about a year ago and at the time, if I remember right, I needed to have both Word AND Zotero running as admin, or I would have some other problem. Ru…

I have just started having problem as well. (Could not find a running Word instance. [getDocument:document.cpp:135]' when calling method: [zoteroIntegrationApplication::getDocument]) I am running Word 2007 on Win10, with Zotero Standalone. Happen…

SOLVED - but it leaves a mystery. I opened Word as administrator, and the plugin worked. but... For a while now, every time I open Zotero, it has opened a User Account Control Window that I think indicates that it is opening in Administrator mode. …
