Hello, Sorry for the delay... It's just the standard firefox message, here's the text: "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Scr…

Yeah - I'm using Box.Net... I didn't have to actually disable the others. I just had to let one of them finish first... then when I'd hit sync on the other device it worked. Good luck.
-
What seemed to ultimately fix it for me was that I had two computers - I had to get one to finish before syncing the other, and I had to reset their file sync histories. Hope that helps.
-
OK... will do... thanks.

Here it is... D250100535... just submitted it... Thanks.

Any luck on this? I've got the same issue.

Hello, The reason I was interested wasn't strictly for LaTex, although that's probably the most obvious use. It seemed that (at least in how it used to work) the word plugin was using a service that zotero hosted on port 50001. I thought that if th…

Ahh ok... Sorry if this is a weird question... but is there a plan to make a generally accessible zotero API? I was just thinking that it would be cool if (while firefox was running) we could send requests for actions through some service. Presum…

wow that's cool! Man... I had no idea... thanks for filling me in... Mike

Hey... My error report seems to have refreshed... now it's showing this one: 463657432 [JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'Cannot make changes to library (Report ID: 41d9435a)' when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]" nsresult: "0…

hey... sorry... it's just a sync error. It comes up when I hover over the sync icon after a sync attempt. Sorry about that... I forgot to mention the most important part! Thanks, Mike

You guys might be impacted by this: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6979/zotero-crashes-when-dragging-items-from-local-library-to-group-library/ Sounds like a fair number of people are - I haven't heard anything, but I assume they're working o…

Yeah... I wouldn't be surprised if the import process now sets those values the way they should be set. Still, it's looking like a simple enough fix... and if so, I'll just wait for the developers to patch it myself...

Hello, You might take a look at this... http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6979/zotero-crashes-when-dragging-items-from-local-library-to-group-library/#Item_7 Mike

Yeah... definitely... There are still a few grad students in my department who don't use Zotero and it really amazes me... I just chuckle and shake my head... The utility of Zotero is just so far beyond the alternatives... it's really a great pro…

Incidentally, I'm not positive it's the NULL entries... that's just the only obvious thing I've found. All of my items that work don't have the NULL entries, and all that don't do have those entries. I joined zotero in October 2008, and it was right…

Well... it's still possible that it has something to do with the timing or an import. For example, maybe they never had those fields in 2007... maybe they were only impacted when you imported the items... maybe there was just a bug in one version an…

Yeah... I was running into this stuff here: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6976/report-2038953161/ The conclusion I came to was that either in early versions of zotero, or in earlier import methods used by zotero, item creators were getting n…

Hi again, Last thing and I'll stop... I looked at my creator and creatorData tables... all of the items where the birthYear is null were created on or before October 28th 2008. Incidentally, I'm not positive about this, but my guess is that those…

Hello again, I think I figured out something... I updated the google docs sheet... http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=r1nynoLbCHe228D9dYgIqiA Any items where the shortName and birthYear are NULL do not seem to work... each of the items whe…

Hello, Thanks... yeah... it does seem to be specific items. One is my Item ID 14441, "Counterterrorism: A Game Theoretic Analysis." I put the creator data up here... http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=r1nynoLbCHe228D9dYgIqiA it was derived…

the actual error I'm getting is this: [JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'Invalid bound parameter false in '0' => "false" '1' => 24228 [QUERY: SELECT creatorID FROM creators WHERE creatorDataID=? AND libraryID=?]' when calling method…

Yeah - you probably wouldn't want to put your whole zotero folder in a sync folder. I did used to just put the storage folder in a syncing program - that worked pretty well. Then you get the advantages of using zotero to do the data syncing, but sti…

I would still come back to the point that most users have no idea about any of this stuff - most have no clue where their profile folder is, why it matters, or what's in it... Further, I doubt most care about what is and is not documents. I know t…

Hi Dan, Thanks for responding... I'd argue this though... 1. Sure, Zotero is a firefox extension - but the question is do your users primarily think of it as a firefox extension? If your users primarily think of zotero as a citations manager that …

Thanks noksagt... Interesting writeup. Yeah - that's why I was asking. It seems like Zotero has much of the logic in place to handle data like that, but it's not surprising that it would be difficult to do. Too bad as well about SQLite. If multiple…

Yeah... The big thing I was thinking is that to really use Zotero this way, you need one critical thing: a virtual drive for the storage folder. So, imagine you had a drive on your computer (we'll just say Z) and when you open it, you see folders f…

Great! Thank you for all your work on this stuff again... Zotero just keeps getting better... I'm actually giving a short presentation to my department in a few weeks to show people how helpful it is... Mike

I've run into the same thing... the extra field gets filled with all kinds of random things I generally don't care about. The JSTOR translator usually sticks the abstract in the extra field. It gets pretty messy indeed when it comes to producing a b…
