This was a straight-up coding error on my part. Here is what was supposed to happen. For testing, we start by stripping the prefix string of CSL markup ( etc.), straight single- and double-quotes, right-side single- and double-quotes, and trailing …

If the ALT collection reveal were available as a rollover, might that serve the purpose as well? (I'm not sure how it behaves with recursive subcollections enabled.)

I'll let others answer on the Zotero/BibTeX issues, but I'm curious about one thing on the Bibdesk side. Is the citeUlike-Bibdesk connection is still a one-way view from Bibdesk into the citeUlike library, with optional download of individual items…

That's very good to hear! It's as adamsmith says. An advantage of official Zotero is support from the core developers: as MLZ is an unofficial fork of the main project, they can't provide direct support. If you don't need to cite resources across …
-
Yep, that should work. We use this at Nagoya to harvest citations from student theses after submission.
-
As far as I can tell, if only (2)(a) is implemented, (4) & (5) will not be an issue.
-
It should be possible to extend the processor to do this, but it would not be perfectly straightforward to set up. Here are a few things we would need to settle before starting: (1) Whether "id." would apply to items with multiple names; (2) If (1)…

Have you been through the steps in the page linked by Dan (up to the "Reset File Sync History" step, followed by a sync attempt)?
-
It would certainly be good to know what caused the fault in these cases. If anyone in this thread can reproduce the error under 4.0.22 and file a Report ID as Dan requests, it will be a great help.
-
Refreshing citations in a document with 1,800 citations will be very slow. It would indeed have to be done in batches, and it's going to be cumbersome. Reading through the thread, I'm not sure what the final target of the work is, so I should confi…

I can confirm (from MLZ, built with latest 4.0.22 Zotero source). Same effect with a single field ("all" returns matching items, "any" returns everything), and with ordinary fields as well as creators (tested with Title).
-
Without being able to reproduce a failure here, it's hard to help directly with debugging. One thing you might do is to create a separate Firefox profile, install official Zotero there (set to use its own, empty library), and sync it to your account…

Syncing works for me here. Are the files present in the Zotero library on the website?
-
On the last item, if you enter "es" in the Language field (to show that it is a Spanish resource), the title will not be capitalized (in "title case"), even when a style requires it for English resources.
-
@villaromero: It sounds like the "Retrieve metadata for PDF" operation just failed for those missing items. You need to create a Zotero item for each one, and attach the PDF to it. The simplest way to do it, if "Retrieve metadata for PDF" fails, is…

I don't read Chinese either, but like aurimas, I don't see anything in the page or the settings that will deliver useable metadata. The site does seem to have a feedback link, so your best option may be to ask the site maintainers to do something a…

@rintze: Does this mean that we have three types of particle, not two? That is, dropping, non-dropping, and ... Higgs?
-
We currently can only use [capitalize-first] on cs:name-part, which would be problematic in case of name disambiguation. Side note: I wonder if normalizing text case when comparing for disambiguation would be safe? That would be easy to do, if it we…
-
What happens if you enter the name as: Last Name: Sas First Name: N.C.F., van (Writing in haste, haven't tested, but I think that will do it, if the dropping-particle option in the style is set appropriately.)
-
Okay, let's look more closely. You are the only one to report the problem, so it's likely something to do with your document or particular setup. First, just to be sure, you don't have the patch plugin installed, by any chance? (It shows up as "Cit…

Dropping in mid-thread, this may be orthogonal to the discussion. Regarding ... ideally this would be in rtf and opml formats I did a little work on other tools recently to get OPML transfers working. In the process, I came to appreciate Charles Mil…

I'm pretty sure the MLA style (Modern Language Association) works like that.
-
If the site itself only supplies the English for the journal title, that's all the translator has to work with.

CMS 14.69 does seem very clear: 1. Author: full name of author(s) or editor(s) or, if no author or editor is listed, name of institution standing in their place
-
You're right that Zotero does not attempt to write in the author name in "suppressed-author" citations. It's designed to work that way; you're not missing anything. This issue has been discussed pretty thoroughly in the past. Here are a few of the …

Apologies. I assumed the upgrade had been released, without checking the version history on zotero.org. Sorry for the confusion. The current Zotero release came out on June 27, so the July 6 processor is not yet in the stable release. Gigi Lo: Cor…
-
Gigi Lo: One more thing that might be relevant: If you have the CSL processor "patch plugin" installed, you can (and should) remove it or disable it. Any fixes that it introduced will have been included in the latest processor installed in Zotero.
-
Gigi Lo: That error cannot occur in the latest version of Zotero (the code line it reports was removed on July 6 of this year with an upgrade of the citation processor). Please check your Zotero version and try again -- the latest is 4.0.21.

It's not in the pulldown menu, but if you type "art." at the start of the field, the term will override the default ("page"), and will be localized, pluralized and formatted according to the style and (remaining) field content. (The full list of ML…

Okay, try updating MLZ (the update should give you version 4.0.21m472). I'm not 100% certain that this has the same cause as the other error. If it's still not working smoothly, post back and I'll dig into it further.
