If you set Zotero to download files "as needed" from the Sync pane of the preferences, it will avoid downloading files added elsewhere until you try to open them. An upcoming version of Zotero will also make it possible to set how many days Zotero …

Should be fixed in beta 115 — thanks.

Oops. Fixed in beta 115 — thanks!

I'm not seeing that. Make sure you can reproduce in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”). If you can, we'd want to see a Debug ID for reproducing this.

They're not called "PDF" in the tabs. Tabs use the parent metadata by default. The "PDF" is just the title of the primary attachment, as shown in the items list, to avoid unnecessary clutter and unnecessary opening of the parent item during searche…

We always need an example URL for problems with saving. But if you're viewing a PDF, it should show a PDF icon, save the PDF itself to Zotero, and try to retrieve metadata — it's done that for many years.
-
But the point is that it's useless information — the metadata that makes up the filename is already shown in the parent item row. The titles of subsequent attachments aren't changed because those are supplementary materials, where the title actually…

What exactly happens? Have you tried restarting your computer? Is this an institutional computer? Is anything logged if you start from the command line and log to a console window? (Also, you should use the 64-bit version of Zotero.)
-
Also that's an outdated version of macOS. You should update to at least the latest version of Ventura, if not a later macOS version.

What exactly happens?

What can't be closed? That popup? Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins? If so, make sure you didn't change ui.popup.disable_autohide in the Config Editor…

(Please start new threads for new issues. I've moved this to a new thread.) Not sure what you mean here. Can you say more?

That's the DOI Manager plugin replacing DOIs with shortDOIs. (If you're seeing some weird problem, please always disable all plugins before reporting it here.)
-
Depending on whether you're referring to items or files, see Changes Not Syncing or Files Not Syncing.
-
That's already implemented in the Zotero 7 beta.
-
(Actually, Zotero 7, currently in beta, does have basic table-of-contents extraction. It still needs some work, but you can try that in the beta or once Zotero 7 is released.)
-
Are you still seeing this in the current version?

They would show up there if they were in the document too, though. As I say, you should toggle Word field codes to see if they're somewhere in the document that you're not seeing. But if you did add them as uncited items, you can remove them using …

What OS is this? macOS? Has Zotero worked before on this computer? What happened since the last time it worked? Have you changed where the Zotero data directory is located? Trying holding down Option (Mac) or Shift (Windows) at Zotero startup to…

What kind of volume is D:? The error suggests it's a cloud storage folder, and if so, the Zotero data directory absolutely can't be there. You should move the data directory back to the default location on your local disk.

See Files Not Syncing.

For plugin questions, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.

You're referring to the Document Outline tab in the left sidebar of the PDF reader? Zotero doesn't currently create a table of contents there — it just shows bookmarks that already exist in the PDF. We're planning to support some form of table-of-c…

It's not currently possible to create related items in the web library, sorry. https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/web_vs_desktop

You'll need to say more. See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need. Be sure to disable all plugins, restart Zotero, and make sure you can still reproduce whatever the problem is you're experiencing.

(Please start new threads for new issues. I've moved this to a new thread.) Customize the citation and use Omit Author. See "Narrative Citations with Omit Author” there.

We always need an example URL for problems with saving. If you're having trouble saving across many sites, see Troubleshooting Problems Saving to Zotero, which you haven't done in full.
