That appears to be the original, never-updated, Release-to-Manufacturing build of Word 2016 Professional Plus (and seemingly pirated). You should switch to a fully updated version of Word if you want to avoid crashes.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Add Item by Identifier is always available via a single click in the toolbar. You can add multiple PMIDs at once.
