Zotero 9.0.5 for Windows will be available with a fix in about an hour.

OK, we're investigating, but almost certainly due to the same Microsoft security updates as this: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/513866/#Comment_513866

@jestone: Report ID?
-
Can you provide a Report ID?
-
It looks like Microsoft put out a huge number of Windows security updates yesterday — the largest "Patch Tuesday" ever — and something in there seems to have broken this for some versions of Word. We're investigating, but it may take a little while…
-
@jestone: Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing and your Word version screen? We've gotten a number of reports of breakage from 2019 in the last couple hours, but none from any other version.

[JavaScript Error: "El tipo de parámetro pasado o esperado es erróneo [insertField:Y:\zotero\word-for-windows-integration\build\zoteroWinWordIntegration\document.cpp]"] This seems to be a broken update from Microsoft: https://forums.zotero.org/disc…

@nafeithe: Your issue is the one described in this thread, not the one you posted to, so I've moved your post here. (It's possible the issues are related, but we have no indication of that at this time.) What exact Word version?
-
[JavaScript Error: "Parameter type passed or expected is wrong [insertField:Y:\zotero\word-for-windows-integration\build\zoteroWinWordIntegration\document.cpp]"] This is the second report of this error that we've never seen before, with no recent up…

What exact version of Word? Can you provide a Report ID to start? Does it work in new documents?
-
Same as Firefox — app.update.auto set to false in prefs.js in the Zotero profile folder. Various other Firefox mechanisms (e.g., registry keys) might also work, but we haven't tested those.
-
That's not a valid Report ID. Can you try again?
-
You may have accidentally flattened the bibliography somehow. Delete it completely and then use Add/Edit Bibliography to reinsert it.
-
That would be unrelated. You should start a new thread for that and provide more details.
-
You didn't answer my other question. It's failing trying to delete the C:\Users\[…]\Zotero\storage\GN3XX9DA folder in order to apply a remotely changed file. So either you have something from that folder (e.g., a PDF) open outside of Zotero or your…

Exactly what I say above: You'd have to sync all files to the desktop app first and then make the change there.
-
You're just not actually doing what I said above — using "Restart with Logging Enabled…" — but you should see my previous message.
-
Are you opening PDFs outside of Zotero or in the built-in PDF reader? You could get this error if you have a PDF (or even Explorer window) open outside of Zotero. You should restart your computer, if you haven't yet.
-
That's not a Debug ID from Zotero startup.
-
Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the Help → Debug Output Logging → "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
-
Are you running third-party security software?
-
@nicoladimaria: You should disable "Automatically update citations" — that's the point. https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/citations_slow
-
We were finally able to reproduce this. It should be fixed now in Zotero Connector 5.0.210 for Firefox, and we've submitted updates for Chrome and Edge, which should be available within the next day.
-
If you're seeing values in autocomplete, they still exist on items. There's no other separate store of values. You'll need to search for the values and clean them up.
-
[JavaScript Error: "Could not remove `C:\Users\[…]\Zotero\storage\GN3XX9DA' (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)"] Zotero can't properly write to its data directory. Usually this is due to security software on the system. If this is an institutional comput…

For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.
-
I'm afraid your IT department would have to figure that out by checking system logs, etc. This would usually be due to security software silently preventing Zotero from running. (We received one other report of this the other day, and the person re…
