Did you run "Rename File from Parent Metadata" after editing the metadata manually? Zotero will automatically rename all files saved from the web, the first file you drag onto an existing parent item, and files that it retrieves metadata for and cre…

We're not going to do that, sorry. That's Safari's bizarre (and widely derided) "Compact" tabs implementation where they combined the tab bar with the address bar. I'm not even sure that's the default anymore — I think they reverted the default back…

How exactly are you adding the file?

The doi.org metadata resolver is currently returning errors for some DOIs. This would be affecting the entire academic ecosystem and isn't a problem in Zotero itself.

I mean exactly what I say — that you should just download Zotero from the download page. It gives you the 64-bit version by default.
-
This should be fixed now in Zotero 7.0.15. (It could happen starting in 7.0.14 if a download took longer than 30 seconds.)
-
@jeanaliceyang: Fixed now in 7.0.15. Thanks very much for reporting.

What URL are you trying on? What does it say when you hover over the save button? In general, see Troubleshooting Problems Saving to Zotero.
-
You'll need to say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing. See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need.
-
What version of Zotero are you running? If you have 7.0.14, you just enabled the "classic" dialog in the Cite pane of the Zotero settings and should turn it off. If you're running the Zotero 7.1 beta, you're seeing the new citation dialog.
-
Just install Zotero 7 from the download page. (You could use Help → "Check for Updates…", but you'd still be on the 32-bit version and would want to reinstall anyway.) Your data won't be affected.

(Note that "Dark Mode for Content" is going away in Zotero 7.1, replaced by a theme picker.)

We've confirmed that there is a regression in the new dialog where it waits for the processing to complete before allowing any input. That's not correct, and we'll fix it for the next beta in a few days. Thanks for reporting.
-
That's it, thanks. It looks like a change we made in 7.0.14 causes downloads to fail if they take more than 30 seconds. You have some large files (e.g., a >500 MB file) that are taking longer than that. For now, you may want to set it to downloa…

If all your own files are online, your best bet is just to do a search for all the .pdf files within your Zotero data directory and delete them outside of Zotero. Zotero will redownload them as needed. Don't delete anything from within Zotero — tha…

If you want, you can try the Zotero beta to see if the new citation dialog fixes it. We don't yet know if it will still happen with that.
-
I mean, just to be clear, you probably shouldn't be using beta software for your dissertation. We're happy to debug problems with you, but if you don't have time for that, you should switch back to the release version from the download page. With a…

That doesn't show any errors. Can you share a screenshot of what you see?
-
Right, you can ignore for now.
-
I linked to instructions above.
-
Can you disable all plugins and provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing the problem, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
-
We'd need to see an example PDF where it's not working for you.
-
That's not from Zotero startup. Again, you should use the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option.
-
Should be improved in the latest beta
