Looks like it's been resolved.

Looks like it's been resolved.

@lies_nerd: Looks like it's been resolved.
-
Yes, looks like it's been resolved.

OK, then see Files Not Syncing, and provide the requested info if you're still having trouble.
-
It's the pinned thread: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/122675/error-cannot-retrieve-metadata
-
No, it's a common request, and Option 2 is generally planned (and possibly a toggle for Option 1).
-
Update to Zotero 7.0.15. There was a bug in 7.0.14 when downloading large files or when on a slow connection.
-
For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.
-
We would need some examples — either here or in an email to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread — to say more.

Crossref certainly should be getting their own alerts about this, but since their status page isn't showing it, we've reported it to them for good measure.
-
It's currently the only way to manually run that operation, yes, but I explained all the ways above that files are renamed automatically. Can you give a specific example of how exactly you're running into this, step by step? You generally shouldn't…

The Linked Attachment Base Directory setting applies to linked files and doesn't have anything to do with stored files (nor does it affect where linked files are saved). Only stored files sync via Zotero Storage or WebDAV.
-
That's the parent item, not the attachment item.
-
@embracemayday: As we say above, copying text to Word has never created active citations. Use the Word plugin.
-
Right-click on the attachment item.

Yes, their status page is wrong. You can see the error message above, which is coming straight from Crossref. Their search cluster is partially down. This is a DOI that returns data: https://api.crossref.org/v1/works/10.1145/1111320.1111059 This …

Make sure you're running 7.0.15, which was released earlier today. Does it still happen with that?
-
You're going to have to trust that we know what we're talking about. This is an error coming straight from Crossref — specifically, as you can see above, their search cluster is partially down. Getting data from Crossref is the standard way for aca…

Did you run "Rename File from Parent Metadata" after editing the metadata manually? Zotero will automatically rename all files saved from the web, the first file you drag onto an existing parent item, and files that it retrieves metadata for and cre…
-
We're not going to do that, sorry. That's Safari's bizarre (and widely derided) "Compact" tabs implementation where they combined the tab bar with the address bar. I'm not even sure that's the default anymore — I think they reverted the default back…
-
How exactly are you adding the file?
-
The doi.org metadata resolver is currently returning errors for some DOIs. This would be affecting the entire academic ecosystem and isn't a problem in Zotero itself.

[JavaScript Error: "HTTP GET https://doi.org/10.[…] failed with status code 500: {"status":"error","message-type":"exception","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"name":"class org.elasticsearch.client.ResponseException" […] \"reason\":\"No shard a…

The file is being renamed. https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/attachment_title_vs_filename

I mean exactly what I say — that you should just download Zotero from the download page. It gives you the 64-bit version by default.
-
This should be fixed now in Zotero 7.0.15. (It could happen starting in 7.0.14 if a download took longer than 30 seconds.)
-
@jeanaliceyang: Fixed now in 7.0.15. Thanks very much for reporting.
