What exactly are you referring to? You're using the web library? And you're trying to add a URL via Add by Identifier? What's an example URL you're trying to add? Is there a reason you're not using the desktop app and Zotero Connector?
-
It definitely didn’t happen by default, but you might have changed it by accident while exploring the settings.
-
That's an HTTP 401 Unuthorized error from your WebDAV provider. That's all we can tell you.
-
You won't.

Thanks. Some PDFs apparently have embedded code meant to trigger auto-printing. (Both Acrobat Reader and Firefox will open a print dialog for that PDF, though macOS Preview ignores it.) We've changed it to ignore that code for the next version.

@tim820: You'll be able to perform more actions on detected references (DOI or not) in documents in upcoming versions. Supporting lookup engines for those could make sense. For selected text in general, I think a single configurable search engine, …

Specifically, as explained there, some recently added DOIs haven't been getting indexed by Crossref, so metadata isn't available yet. (That article is from a week ago. It's not "any" DOI from Science.)

Yes, those are field codes. If Alt-F9 (or Option-Fn-F9 on a Mac) isn't working, it's possible the field codes have been converted to flat text. That would generally happen if you incorrectly moved the document between programs/formats, or perhaps if…

No, this is some sort of confusion (and the thread you posted to was for an unrelated feature request). The citation dialogs in Zotero 7 haven't changed in this way. The default (red bar) dialog still searches across all libraries. It's possible yo…

(Please try to use more descriptive thread titles when posting here.) First, this isn't a "common issue" — it's obviously a rare edge case that you hit because you were recording a video and deleted an item before saving it again. There'd be no rea…

You don't need to guess — you can just test it and see what you get. Again, the Zotero Connector save button would not produce the data in your screenshot under any circumstances. Saving that item from Google Scholar via the Zotero Connector resul…

We let the admin know who deleted the items. (It was the third person in the group.) As we mentioned, while all collections were permanently deleted, most of the items are still in the trash. You can simply restore those items. (This was done with…

I don't know the specifics in LO, but it's possible you have some custom template set for new documents, or you've changed some setting that's affecting the format of new documents. If you can't figure it out and don't have any settings you want to …

Not really clear what you mean here. Folders are only removed from 'storage' when attachments are deleted from Zotero.
-
You could show us the file sizes of the zotero.sqlite files on the PC, but all I can tell you is that Zotero makes two days of automatic backups, so if you had data on the PC within the last two days, you should have been able to restore from one of…

You get that if you 1) restart LibreOffice, 2) create a new, empty document, and 3) click Add/Edit Citation? What version of LibreOffice? Can you provide a Report ID from Zotero?
-
6.0.21-beta.2+87fbf3c7f You're running a years-old beta version of Zotero 6. You should reinstall Zotero 7 from the download page.
-
Yes, that message is harmless.
-
No, that thread was about how to use BibTeX with Quick Copy. It wasn't saying it's the default setting. Zotero isn't a BibTeX-based tool and wouldn't ever use BibTeX by default for anything. Note that if you're actually using a BibTeX-based workflo…

Zotero only keeps two days of automatic backups. If you didn't do the restore right away — within two days of syncing down the deletions — the backups would no longer have the old info. Your screenshot doesn't show file sizes, but it should be clear…

@kraut_librarian: Can you (or the student) run the command above and provide the output and also answer my other questions above? To be clear, this definitely wouldn't be a Zotero issue, but it'd be good to know how it's happening. This would be du…

No, but it's possible there could be a plugin button in a future version that selected the item in Zotero. For now, I assume you know this, but you can click Add/Edit Citation, click the citation bubble, and click Open in My Library.
-
Is this an institutional computer? Are you running any non-standard security software? Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync that triggers this?
-
You should install the oxt manually and see what the error is. This isn’t Zotero code. All we do is call the LO extension installer.
-
You need to select BibTeX from the Quick Copy settings in the Export tab of the Zotero settings.
-
OK, so you used Replace Online Library from an empty library. That would indeed delete your Zotero data online and everywhere else. You may be able to restore from one of the automatic backups on the old PC. Check the timestamps, as explained there…

https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/transferring_a_library See Option B. You can copy the data folder from one Windows account to the other. You may need to adjust the file permissions to make sure the new account can read and write to that folder an…

You'll need to say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing. See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need. But to start, you should install Zotero 7 via Help → Check for Updates.
