I'm going to close this thread, since there's nothing else to say here. This was caused by a Microsoft security update and is fixed in Zotero 9.0.5: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/513908/#Comment_513908 If you're still getting this e…

@elkanawie: As explained above, you need to upgrade to Zotero 9.0.5. You're on an outdated version of Zotero from 2024.
-
You shouldn't get the above error, though, unless you're activating the plugin somehow other than by clicking Add/Edit Citation or Add/Edit Bibliography. Clicking Add/Edit Bibliography in a document without Zotero citations just displays a message t…

Just reinstall the app from the download page if the updater isn’t working for you. Your data won’t be affected.
-
We’ve already fixed it for the next version. (This setting is not on by default, or there would be many, many more reports of this.)
-
Reopen the Collections pane from the View menu.
-
Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync that produces this error?
-
See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents, including the last step.

Fixed, thanks
-
Restart Zotero and try the update again or just reinstall from the download page. Your data won't be affected.

Great, thanks. (We added more efficient scanning for local file changes — which no longer occur for most people, now that PDFs open in the built-in reader by default — in Zotero 9, but there was a bug that caused only changes in My Library to be det…

(It looks like this specific error is indeed a bug, but it only appears if you've enabled "Show add-in user interface errors" in Word. Presumably you did that because you were making custom changes to templates previously.)
-
It looks like this is a recent bug in the plugin, but it only appears if you've turned on the "Show add-in user interface errors" option in Word. We'll fix, but you can just turn that off in the Word settings via Options → Advanced → General → "Show…

(The Windows-update issue was fixed in Zotero 9.0.5, so moving this to a new thread.) Integration.Session.editBibliography: called without loaded citations If it works in a new, empty document, you'll need to follow the troubleshooting steps through…

Manon, @ncamil: Same answer as above. Upgrade to Zotero 9.0.5.

It's automatic.

Can you provide an actual Debug ID for this? (We always want an ID rather than raw output.)
-
Based on previous posts, you were already running a custom version of Zotero.dotm. We can't provide any support here for customized builds. You should make sure you've tested with the actual current version of Zotero.dotm by following step 3 here …

Are you still seeing this?

You used some plugin or AI tool that created an item with an invalid key that can't sync. You'll need to 1) contact the tool developer and ask them to fix it and to fix your database, 2) identify the item and delete it (and empty the trash), or 3) d…

(But also resize down the citation dialog. The reason I was asking about that is because the dialog has a bottom toolbar with additional mode toggles, including one to switch between inserting citations/annotations/notes regardless of which toolbar …

(I would guess that you copied everything to the wrong place and the only files you can actually open are the ones that fit under your 300 MB quota and are being pulled down from the online library. So it's worth trying to find the files you copied …

Again, there are no "correct" and "incorrect" 8-character names. You're just looking at different attachments. For the missing ones, if the files were openable in the web library, they'd be openable in the desktop app too unless you don't have file …
-
It's not looking in the wrong spot — it's looking where the file was when you added it. As the message says, either the file was moved or deleted outside of Zotero or was added on another computer and not transferred/synced properly to this computer…
-
This would've been caused by some plugin you used, so I'm afraid we're not able to help. Something changed existing attachments from stored files to linked files, which isn't a valid operation. (The plugins that do properly create new attachments.) …

I was referring to the desktop plugins that the OP was asking about. Obsidian on iOS is largely a web view, so it can just run most of the same JavaScript plugins as on the desktop. Zotero's iOS app is a real native Swift app with native UI, so it …

Install Zotero 9.0.5. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/513908/#Comment_513908

It has nothing to do with an update. A 250 MB file would obviously put you way over your free quota. You didn’t notice the error earlier or weren’t syncing. There’s nothing else to discuss here. I explained above how you can fix it.
