OK, that means a plugin caused invalid column data to be saved. Go to your Zotero profile folder, delete treePrefs.json, and restart Zotero.

You would get that if the Zotero Connector couldn't communicate with the Zotero app and you gave it permission to save to the online library (and maybe something is then wrong with saving to the online library, but there's no reason to be doing that…

Can you provide a Debug ID for actually attempting the file download? That just shows a normal sync.

If you right-click → Duplicate Item on the note, edit the copy of the note to remove the five embedded images, and then restart Zotero, can you reproduce the memory usage in the copy of the note without the images?
