OK, great. If you don't want to stay on the beta, you'll probably want to stay on that until the next production release (which will be 263 or higher), and then you should be able to switch back to the production version without wiping your database.

@annosoo: How long have you actually waited without doing anything? There's definitely some problem here for large libraries with a huge number of previously opened items, but it's possible it would resolve itself if you gave it time.
