What error, exactly?
-
Would this have happened for all BBT users, or just those who upgraded to Z8 recently?
-
I really just meant a screenshot of each item’s metadata pane.
-
Don't do that. This isn't a problem in Zotero. Nothing has changed here, and you just confirmed that the problem happens with Z7. Something on your system changed to break this.
-
No it doesn't. It just uses the same data directory. You can see the version from the Help menu.
-
Yes, but I doubt that's planned — that was a stopgap. As I say, it would make more sense for BBT to just move the official Citation Key field up to the top, which it could do in various ways.
-
You'd have to show us the data for each one.
-
Right, so again, we'd need a specific example. You can provide a zotero.org URL from the web library after clicking on an item that you don't see on iOS.
-
If the new item is appearing, we'd need a specific example of an existing item that you're not seeing.
-
We still need the requested Debug ID, if that new item isn't appearing.
-
You can try deleting the bibliography completely and reinserting it with Add/Edit Bibliography. It may have gotten flattened during the commenting.
-
And are you saying the new item didn't appear on iOS? On iOS, we need a Debug ID that includes the first sync after the change was made elsewhere. Make sure you're starting debug output logging on iOS before you make the change in the desktop app, …

(A plugin may have been breaking restarting for you. The "Troubleshooting Mode" checkbox certainly should work, and does for me.) So then same questions and suggestions as above. There's nothing wrong shown in the logs. https://forums.zotero.org/d…
-
What matters is what happens after you've restarted with plugins disabled. Badly behaved plugins can still affect things after they're disabled. Restarting clears all state.
-
You can just disable all plugins from Tools → Plugins.
-
You need to close Zotero completely. Restart your computer if you're having trouble.
-
Before posting a long AI-generated summary, please do take the time to explain the actual problem you're experiencing. Are you getting regular crashes? What are you doing in Zotero when it occurs? When did this start? Does it happen if you manua…
-
@eljobi: You have multiple plugins enabled there. Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the Help → Debug Output Logging → "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option with Troubleshooting Mode enabled? Beyond that,…

See Changes Not Syncing for what to check and what we'd need to say more.
-
The number of pages of the book wouldn't appear in references. Are you thinking about the page number for individual citations? You enter that in the citation dialog when adding a citation: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usag…
-
Generally that message means what it says, so you should check your spam folder. If you're still not seeing a reset email, email support@zotero.org from that address and CC your personal address.
-
@batpc: Files are renamed automatically when you add them to Zotero, and always have been. Zotero 8 introduces continuous renaming that renames them as you continue to make edits to metadata, so "Rename File from Parent Metadata" (which was only ne…
-
It's just the "# of Pages" field in the right-hand pane.
-
@ludilab001: If you're having some problem, you should report it and provide the information we request so that we can fix it. Zotero 6 is no longer supported and will increasingly be unable to sync or save things from the web.
-
(Yeah, just to be extremely clear, there has never been a password breach at Zotero. If you reused passwords between services, Dashlane is just telling you that that email/password combination was found in one of the many publicly known data breache…
-
But also, a huge number of items in your online library already have a modified date of Feb. 17, 2026, so this already happened a couple days earlier.
-
Are you running plugins? Nothing in Zotero itself should do this, and we haven't received other reports of it. The Extra field migration doesn't do it (or we'd have gotten innumerable reports of it), and continuous renaming only renames files when y…

@cool_alex: Looking at this PDF, it isn't actually even what you describe — this text isn't actually part of the images (which is why it's selectable). In fact, for the default Dark theme, we do try to make black lines (including text) white, while …
-
@cool_alex: "Black" was added in Zotero 8.0.1 a month ago, as I say above. Make sure you're running the latest version. If you don't see it, provide a Report ID and a screenshot. Importantly, why are you burdening users to fiddle with custom setting…
-
@cool_alex: You can switch to Black for those or create a custom theme that's similar to the default dark one but that inverts images. Many people complained about inverted images, so there's no one option here that will work for all people and all …
