Also, though, the item you just added is always selected in Zotero, so you wouldn't have to go find it. You could simply switch to Word or Google Docs and then use the word processor plugin, which (if you're using Zotero 7) will offer the selected i…

The thread felt like it was downplaying the issue Again, the first half of the thread was filled with technical details that were confusing people. There've been countless threads on this over the years, and we link to the same section in every sing…

How did you relate an item to itself? Zotero itself shouldn't ever allow that. If you did this with a plugin, you should report this to the plugin developer. If you're not able to fix it, you should delete the item and re-add it.
-
This is a permissions problem on your computer that you'll need to fix — it's not something we can help with. The Zotero data directory needs to be owned and readable/writable by your OS user account. You'd generally get this error if you moved data…

Right, then you need to provide the requested info if you want our help.

No. You need to use the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option, exactly like you did the first time. https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output
-
Do you mean you want to export all files into a folder hierarchy matching your Zotero collection hierarchy? There's no built-in way to do that, no. I'm not sure if there's a third-party plugin that will do it.
-
You'd still need to ask your IT department. Zotero isn't able to delete totally different folders, in totally different parts of the code, so something outside of Zotero is preventing normal file operations from working. To be clear, this has nothi…

@jeremyvancleve: Please try the latest version of the Zotero Connector (5.0.169).
-
The latest version of the Zotero Connector should be able to handle the intermediate page without needing to manually click through once.

Do you mean you moved PDFs on disk, outside of Zotero? Out of 'storage' subfolders? Something else? In any case, you need to say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing. What are you doing and what's happening? What does the error say? …

[JavaScript Error: "creatorID not provided" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/data/creators.js" line: 69}] But based on this, you should also check your database integrity from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero settings.
-
Yes, but it needs to be a Debug ID for Zotero startup, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option. It's the exact same thing you provided before, just with all plugins disabled.

See Changes Not Syncing or Files Not Syncing, depending on whether you're referring to library data or files, and provide the requested info if you're still having trouble.

Is this an institutional computer? [JavaScript Error: "Could not remove the file at C:\Users\[…]\Zotero\locate"] [JavaScript Error: "Could not remove the file at C:\Users\[…]\Zotero\storage\GXDEHHUI"] [JavaScript Error: "Could not remove the file …

You'll need to say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing. See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need. Whatever it is, make sure you can reproduced it in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”),…

So the takeaway is that there's been a deliberate choice to move to a display that is the exact counterpart to the old-timey Web's "Click here" instead of an informative line of text that is already there for the taking? @jensedlund: No, there was a…

Right-click on the item pane header and choose View As → Bibliography Entry, or configure it from the General → Appearance section of the settings.

You have to start the Zotero app manually before using the word processor plugin.
-
Make sure you’re running the latest version of Zotero (Help → Check for Updates). If you are, can you provide a Report ID from Zotero and a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector for reloading Google Docs and clicking Add/Edit Citation?
-
For problems with a plugin, you'll need to contact the plugin developer.

But is it working in your existing document? You should get the same results in an existing and new document. If you're seeing the wrong thing in an existing document, you may have made a manual edit (e.g., before you learned how to correct the dat…

See Changes Not Syncing, and if you're still having trouble, provide the requested info.

APA uses title case for periodicals. If you're seeing something you think is incorrect, we'd need to see an example.

(And I'd guess it's the same for @dguggenh and @jdiz.)

It doesn't matter whether you have the files all on one device. You would just need a copy somewhere. I've had some big group libraries in the past that I've stopped syncing and I couldn't tell whether those old group libraries were taking up storag…

It has nothing to do with the website. I linked to instructions for restoring from one of your automatic backups. https://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#restoring_from_the_last_automatic_backup

I can't really say more than what I did above. You'll need to follow the linked instructions carefully.

Make sure you're not running an outdated version of the Zotero Connector. You should have 5.0.169.
