Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for a sync that fails?
-
You can click the sync error icon the top right to see the error: Search value cannot be longer than 255 characters You have a saved search with an extremely long name. Shorten it and the sync should go through.

There is no bug here. The desktop behavior is explained in the link I provided above. While the web library can be used with the Zotero Connector, it's more commonly used as a standalone tool by users with relatively rudimentary needs, so the Web …

What OS? By "crashing", do you mean that Zotero is actually closing or just that it's freezing? If this is a large document on macOS, it's likely just slow, and you may need to wait longer. Make sure "Automatically update citations" is disabled in…

Could you say more about what exactly you're trying to do and what's happening? See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need. A Debug ID for this might also be helpful.
-
That's an HTTP 401 Unauthorized error from your WebDAV provider. You'd have to ask them.

Yes, that's why I linked to the color. You can find those recent annotations and change the color. But again, this is caused by a plugin, and you should identify the plugin and report this to the plugin developer, who would be breaking Zotero synci…

@RedDwarf: After upgrading to Zotero 7, you can also switch the new item pane header to Bibliography Entry mode, which will show you a preview, and copy from the right-click menu there. The Style Preview requires you to navigate through the setting…

@tranthanhxhong: Right, that's normal. The exact amount will depend on the size and complexity of your PDFs. (Only up to five tabs are currently kept in memory at a given time.) If you see a much larger number in Troubleshooting Mode, or a number t…

@tranthanhxhong: See my comment immediately above yours.

I assume @RedDwarf is just still on Zotero 6, then, but it doesn’t matter. @RedDwarf, you should upgrade, but regardless, don’t use Style Preview for this. You want to use Quick Copy. See the link I provided above.
-
To be clear, if you mean that you're using Style Preview to manually generate (and then copy and paste?) citations, that's absolutely not something you want to do — that's not the way to use Zotero. See Creating Bibliographies for the actual ways th…

But what do you mean by "did nothing"? Again, dependent styles don't show up in Style Preview, because that's primarily been a tool for style developers. They would work fine to actually generate citations anywhere else in Zotero. I've also explain…

Yes, the dedicated Turabian styles were removed and replaced with dependent styles as part of the Chicago 18th overhaul, since they're not really intended to be different from Chicago.
-
#ff234643 Technically, it created annotations with an alpha channel for transparency. We don't allow an alpha channel in our annotation colors. It's this color.
-
Some plugin you used created annotations with invalid colors that can't be synced. You'll need to contact the plugin developer and/or change the colors.
-
The Turabian styles are just dependent styles pointing at Chicago 17th styles, so they don't show up in the CSL tools. (I guess no real reason dependent styles couldn't show up in Style Preview. They don't really make sense in the Style Editor.)

What's your internet upload speed? These are large files (>80 MB), and the uploads are taking a very long time and ultimately timing out.
-
(Please start new threads for new issues — the thread you posted to isn't related. I've moved this to a new thread.) You can only add to My Publications via drag and drop from elsewhere in your library, and you can only drag regular items (with or …

That's not possible with Zotero itself, no, though you could post-process an exported note to do it.

It looks like this a bug in Firefox, on which Zotero is based. It will be fixed in the next major version of Zotero later this year (or in the beta in a few weeks).
-
("Zotero 3.5" is definitely not what you mean.) disk I/O error] In any case, this is a generic storage I/O error. There's no way for us to tell you specifically what the problem is, but the most common cause is having your Zotero data directory on a…

I can't figure out why Mac isn't locating the zotero.sqlite files Spotlight doesn't search within ~/Library. If you can reproduce 7.0.11 → 7.0.21 triggering this startup error, we'd want to know that. Anyway, it's what I say — this is an ancient d…

@adamsmith: That's the old data directory location from when it was stored within the profile, pre-2017.

But you canceled that sync, right? It's uploading a 118 MB file. Depending on your upload speed, that might take a little while. Can you provide a Debug ID for waiting longer? 30 minutes or so?
-
Not sure I'm following. Are you saying if you update 7.0.11 to a more recent version (which version?), it fails to start up? It says the default data directory is: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Zotero/Profiles/gc0u8noh.default/zotero T…

The tarball comes with a desktop entry file and a script to customize it. https://www.zotero.org/support/installation#linux

Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) for Zotero startup through a few minutes of syncing, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?

Those are the app settings. As I say, this is the gear icon in the top-right corner of the reader — when you’re reading a PDF.
