That's an HTTP 401 Unauthorized error from your WebDAV server.
-
What are you doing when this happens? Do you have the latest version of Zotero from the download page? Does it happen in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”)?
-
This is just the Firefox profile system, and we can't provide support for it. You can debug it as if this were Firefox, or you can try just creating a new profile and pointing it at the same data directory.
-
@kaijie: Disable all plugins and restart Zotero. If you can reproduce the problem, let us know the exact steps, with links to specific PDFs, to do so.
-
OK, great. Yes, you can go back to the profile manager, delete the new profile, and tell it to delete files.
-
Check "Include parent and child items of matching items".
-
No, without the original storage folders, there's no way other than manually re-locating each one (which will copy the file into the correct location) or dragging in all the files and merging the duplicates (and deleting the broken attachment items).

We're talking about the dialog that's telling you the document is locked. That's where it gives you the option to override the lock.
-
I mean a screenshot of the dialog you’re referring to.
-
You can share a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
-
I'm not sure what you mean here. What do you mean by "as is the case, if you drag and drop an PDF into Word from a zot collection"? Dragging a PDF attachment from the items list to Word doesn't create a link back to Zotero. Dragging some text from …

Can you make a screen recording of this happening and either link to it here or email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
Sorry, try again now.

Our Turabian styles are just dependent styles of Chicago, so you can just use the equivalent Chicago style — i.e., one of the Chicago 16th styles. https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=Chicago&dependent=0
-
Did you actually try to override the lock in the dialog that pops up?
-
Can you try the latest beta version and let us know if that fixes it?

Can you provide a Debug ID (different from a Report ID) from Zotero for reproducing this?
-
I'm not really sure what you mean here. What's a "closed annotation"? Do you mean a closed note window?
-
Can you try deleting key4.db, cert9.db, and pkcs11.txt in the old profile and see if it works after starting Zotero with that profile?
-
Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?

Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option? Does it happen for a PDF file as well?

(Please start new threads for new issues — the thread you posted to isn't at all related. I've moved this to a new thread.) You should almost never edit citations directly in the document. See Customizing Citations.

The size shown is definitely not accurate. Windows just lies sometimes. The program files would be a couple hundred megabytes. If the uninstaller isn’t working, just delete C:\Program Files\Zotero and C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero if they exist. Yo…

Can you provide another Debug ID for it working for a given citation?
-
Well, wait, what do you mean by that? There's not really such a thing as an "old" source and a "new" source in Zotero. If you restart Zotero, does it become an "old" source that can be cited? Also, what exactly happens on screen when it freezes? Ca…

Can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing this in a new, empty document?
-
Yes, this is planned.
