You can do 1. by using Reference Extractor: https://rintze.zelle.me/ref-extractor/ (see the 'Store cites' option and export it into a new collection, say 'Cited'). While I haven't done this myself, I expect you could get to 2. by: creating an adva…

I agree @lexikeeton that it is easier to 'see' the library - for that reason I still use the Classic Add Citation Dialog (which you can set as the default using Preferences under Cite/Word Processors tab). I also highly recommend the Reference Extra…

I just tried and it looks like the timeline displays for whichever collection you have selected. So if you want a timeline based on the articles of one author, you could either copy all the author items into a collection, or create an 'advanced sear…

There is a simple solution: use the excellent Reference Extractor here: https://rintze.zelle.me/ref-extractor/. You just upload your document and it can either select your cited items or you can export the whole lot into another collection (clear in…

That's good news about this being put back on the list. I posted on this thread many years ago (like others, having come over from Endnote) but have learnt to adapt and now find it's mostly trivial. However, having recently worked on a project with …

I'm not sure which version you are using, but on my Mac you add tags (and comments) by clicking the top left button icon which looks like coloured lines (depending on the highlight color you have chosen).

Yes, Zotero isn't set up for the very complex structures of citation of international legal materials! If you are working in international law, there is a project called JurisM which builds on Zotero for those working in legal fields (esp internatio…

I have been using Zotfile for years and the new PDF reader beta, so have some thoughts: - the new PDF reader will be the smoothest workflow in the end - you'll open within Zotero, read and annotate, and it'll save back. - However, at present, ther…

You can just add what you need in the 'suffix' field. If you are using the default add/edit citation picker, find your citation, click on the citation and add what you need (including the comma) after the page number.

Thanks @bwiernik - I do use (and love) Zotfile, but hadn’t thought about it as I moved away from linking to using Zotero storage, so I only use the SharePoint links for a few files that are more confidential than most. But good point - that’s an alt…

Fantastic thanks! This solved my problem (and was much easier to find in the forums than the previous thread.

OK, it’s taken me a while to get to it (I don’t actually use Zotero on iPad very often!) but this is th new Debug ID. D964667644. I renamed on the web library by removing the _ between the collection that mysteriously won’t appear (Sexual offences),…

Great thanks! I’ll give that a try.

You can also create a URI link within Zotero to link out to SharePoint for a document. I do this for documents that need a higher level of confidentiality. It is the same as sharing a link to a file - whatever SharePoint permissions apply are still…

This is the Debug ID - D2060482850 I generated just now from the iPad (the renaming had happened earlier, and I’d tried it straightaway but it didn’t work). However, the sync and the rename worked perfectly on my iPhone (and all my other Mac devices…

Thanks for the swift reply! I’ve tried that, but still no joy (I also tried restarting the iPad, and the app, but no joy).

I'm not sure this is the same problem, but I'm having a somewhat similar issue where suddenly one of my main collections has disappeared from the iPad version but is still showing everywhere else. The items are still there, just in 'All items' (and …

@mossposs While I can't help with the bigger issue, if the issue is the pdf reader in the beta version, can you try changing the preferences so you unselect the 'Enable the pdf editor' option, which should revert you back to opening PDFs the old wa…

Just to report - the error was removed by the build, but I did still have issues finalising the sync (possibly due to a very large library). I’ve been progressively opening it but the latest build, while still throwing a couple of errors during the …

Thanks @chrisgrieser - I haven’t had a chance to get back to the computer yet where this is all set up, but will do so and shoot you an email with screenshots.

@starsareintherose - my workaround was mostly in group libraries, but I've now tested importing the RIS notes in the new beta, and it seems work fine (which I am very relieved about, as not being able to import RIS would be very disruptive of my wor…

I agree that this will be a killer feature. Do we have any ETA on when that might come online? We have a project that in the next six months could really use this feature, so I'm keen to know whether I could use that instead of the workaround I'm no…

I also use a workflow where I split out the extracted annotations. While it is fine to do it manually for small references, I also find it is tedious for longer ones. I have a workaround for long text where I use a text editor to split the notes us…

That's great - swift work!

I thought this looked like just the thing - I am trying to figure out an easy way to get Ulysses to play with Zotero and found some of the tutorials a little intimidating. I've carefully followed the instructions for the Alfred workflow, which were …

I got the same error as well (running Zotero 1.0 on iPad). Debug ID: 4kikPdjAp9QZ. I had tried sharing using the Zotero extension from the web and received an error in the share extension ‘can’t sync collections’. I opened the Zotero app and it star…

If you only have a few small edits to make to an existing style, try using the Visual Citation Editor: https://editor.citationstyles.org/visualEditor/. You can upload the closest style you have, click on the bit of the sample citation you want to re…

Ah apologies - you're right. I had been looking at Zotero with the sidebar closed, and had imported the journal article from my iPad while testing the new iOS app, where I had been using the 'select' and 'highlight' option, which doesn't give the op…

Wow! This new feature is really fantastic, and will really streamline my workflow. Thank you all so very much for all the hard work you are doing to make this incredible tool. I have one small request: can the option to tag an individual annotatio…

Following up on my long post before - Just installed this now on my iPhone 12 mini and it crashed only once this time, bug report ID 905482601. The phone also has an exchange server linked so I’ll try on an older device which isn’t linked. Also on…
