It happens during reading the abstract (see screen shot), not doing anything in Zotero (Zotero does not "know" I am reading!), and it happens only once in a while. So your suggestions don't seem to help. Or do I misunderstand you?

Right gduffner, thats what I also found. But how do I do point 2 in this case, because there is no rlevant action. 2) Immediately perform the relevant action (syncing, saving, importing, etc.) and reproduce the problem you're experiencing.

Before I do so: I use Zotero just on 1 laptop. But the problem arises when I have merged double items (because I downloaded them twice). Does that make sense to you?

Thx. BioRxiv articles are published after peer review in "regular" journals, see above. I can find that via the DOI of the BioRxiv article and then download the "regular article" and remove the BioRxiv article (which is redundant then). But often th…
