Yes, NIH does not (and previously did not) care about the details of the style, so any of the nine are fine. Having options is good. I am not sure if a dependent style pointing to only one is necessary. The suggestion on NIH's webpage for the use o…

(and thank you for all the work you've done on the styles!)

Thank you @dunning. The old style, "National Library of Medicine (grant proposals)", was also based on the NLM style before. Without the style name including "(grant proposals)", people may not realize the appropriate style is still available. Just …

With recent changes styles, the NLM styles adding PMCID (for grant writing purposes) can no longer be found with the links above. Search this instead: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=nlm Something like this may work for NIH grants: https://www.zot…

Thank you. It works now. Happy to be a Zotero user for more than 17 years, regardless of side effects. One silly, unimportant thing: When I type in a new group's name with multiple words, the displayed URL adds an underscore for the first space, bu…

I got the prompt to keep/remove pinned/unpinned keys with an earlier, pre-release version of BBT (from github), so that feature may have been removed or no longer work in 8.0.11. I am sure Emiliano is working on this already.

Citation key is now a native Zotero field, and your items should have a Citation Key in the info pane regardless of BBT. For journal articles, it is right under DOI. Depending on how you responded to BBT prompts on migrating your existing citation …

@iagogv That should have been automatic and happened for all my entries. Were the fields properly defined in Extra? Like this: PMID: 123456 PMCID: PMC123456

I have observed this going back to at least Zotero 6. And it is not about snapshots only; it happens with some other attachments, too. For example, for items saved from Pubmed, if you delete the Pubmed link from only one of the items but not the oth…

The BBT dev is already aware and working on a slew of Zotero 8-related issues, including this one: https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/3360 https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/3396

While this change may be for the better, in some cases, it may cause trouble. For example, the journals "Biochemistry" and "Biochemistry (Moscow)" may now appear the same in the publication column and field. They are definitely not the same journal.…

@jvoros Emiliano is working on this: https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/3360

I might be wrong about your case, but with the last update it took Zotero a few hours to re-label all the retracted items in my database as such. The items were not deleted; they were still in the database. They just were not labeled as Retracted in…

Gentle bump for saving Pubmed preprints as Preprint. I don't see in the nbib translator any logic that helps save the preprint properly. As a result, for example, the repository gets dumped into extra as Journal Abbreviation: bioRxiv instead of Rep…

I have had ~/Zotero/storage symlinked to a Dropbox folder for a decade with zero issues on multiple computers (Mac and linux). But it requires you to understand how to set up a soft link and how they work, and you are on your own (no support). I hav…

Look for the section "Narrative Citations with Omit Author ("According to Smith (1776)")" in https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#customizing_citations

Yeah, you are duplicating annotations. Check the link above by dstillman. You now have them in the Zotero database (which will only show in the Zotero reader) and you also have them saved into a new pdf file (the ones with the lock sign), which you…

1. I imported most of the papers via DOI, so PMIDs are missing for many. Is there a way to automatically fetch the PMIDs and add them to the records? See if the Zotero-PMCID-Catcher plugin helps (it helps with missing PMID/PMCIDs as long as you have…

Zotero devs only provide support for installs from the official tarball or the zotero-deb package, for reasons mentioned in the forums and in documentation: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation#how_do_i_install_zotero (They may still chime …

If this is just for one or a few webpages, you could probably download the page using SingleFile directly, which is what Zotero's webpage capture is based on. I believe you can un-block the saving of javascript by playing with the preferences of the…

If by "references" you mean the bibliography, you can delete the bibliography (make sure it is completely gone), and insert a new one using the Add/Edit Bibliography button in the Zotero tab in Word.

@marygauxlightly [1] Random q: is there a special html tag you use so that text (e.g. "volume-title") is formatted with a grey box? If you meant how to do this in the forums, just place whatever text between and tags to achieve whatever

See this: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/citations_underlined Do you see the Zotero ribbon in Word? Click on Refresh.

You may not need to manually add. Use the Zotero PMCID fetcher plugin, https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-pmcid-fetcher Seems to work well with Zotero 7 and 8beta.

I think this is similar to this, but I have no insights on how to solve the issue: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/125757/7-1-beta-find-full-text-from-sciencedirect-goes-in-captcha-loop

The new Angewandte style should not "break" your bibliography, so you may need to ask how to fix that breakage, not the style. (Also, not sure what break means.) But if you want, you can go back in github to download the old version. You can find t…

You are a Mac user? In Macs, app pulldown menus are always at the top of the screen. Have you checked there? (Add-ons are now called Plugins in Zotero. And I assume you want to add a plugin, not create one.)

https://www.zotero.org/styles/?q=pmid returns the NLM/NIH style for grant proposals. I think this style should be very close (though it prioritizes PMCID over PMID, if both exist).
