macOS 15.1, Zotero 7.0.10 But seems to be present in Kubuntu as well: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/116793/z7-vertical-spacing-in-create-parent-item-dialogue/p1

Will this be fixed at some point? Also, the window is sometimes large, sometimes small, with no apparent reason.
-

It seems to work again now.
-
Fixed, but the dialogue box is now too small. https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u5049822/nkjfhfxjr51ggwpgrcam.png

Is there a timeline for this fix? When using notes frequently, it is a bit annoying to have to manually select paragraphs to format them using keyboard shortcuts.
-
@dstillman: Yeah, you're right, sorry. I was thinking of the normal text selection with Shift + arrow keys, which does not seem to work at the moment.
-
On my Mac, neither shift nor option works for text selection in Zotero 7, beta 40. But I would much prefer shift, as it matches the behaviour in widely used programs such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.

Thanks! 4. I think it does not depend on any particular text. Steps to reproduce: 1) Add many annotations plus comments so that the left pane is filled to the bottom. 2) Add one longer comment to one of the annotations, at least 7 lines. End with a…

Thanks for the reply. 2) Yes, selecting with the mouse. When I start typing, I usually get a lot of suggestions and scroll through them. So I use the mouse at that moment.
-
I would also like a shortcut for exiting the Annotations pane after writing a comment. Microsoft Word uses cmd + enter to do this. I find this very handy.
-
@hb1372 It seems to be a known issue: https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/1874 Apparently it is hard to fix...
-
Ok, will do.
-
@martynas_b Ok, so one of the issues (maybe) related to using an external monitor reappeared. I used my MB Air M1 with an external monitor yesterday. I disconnected it with Zotero still open. Today, it was mostly in sleep mode. After trying to use Z…

@martynas_b Many thanks! This is nice to hear. Ad 3.: Currently the Monterey beta, but the issue appeared under Big Sur already. If it reappears, I'll post back here and try to be more specific about the corresponding circumstances. @dstillman Th…

This happens to me also (Word Mac). When I select "no markup" (not "simple markup"!) and add a citation, "all markup" is enabled automatically. This is really frustrating. Is this not something that can be solved on Zotero's side? Or am I doing some…

I've noticed this bug for quite some time now, too. Could this possibly be fixed? I captured the undesired behaviour in this video: https://1drv.ms/v/s!At2iVKW7O0Q9qhvMqJSiHh4Tql1I Debug ID: D1681149918 Steps to reproduce: 1) Add item using an I…

I've got a similar number of pdfs stored in my database and a full text search takes 1-2 seconds.
-
@adomasven Unfortunately not, the exact issue reappeared. I'd appreciate a fix.
-
@martynas_b Yes, it's fixed, thanks very much. 1) and 5) have also been addressed. I noticed one further issue which you probably have on your radar anyway: when selecting text, clicking on the blue area does not prompt the text to be deselected. …
-
@dstillman Yes, it's fixed now. Actually seems faster now. Many thanks.
-
Yes, opening Word using Rosetta solves the issue. I don't think it is connected to the beta of Word as the issue appeared not after a Microsoft update but after one of the recent Zotero beta updates (I believe beta 7).
-
@adomasven No, the issue remains the same.
-
@dstillman I sent you an email with the debugging output.
-
It happens regardless of which item I cite. But here is one I tried, if that helps: https://1drv.ms/u/s!At2iVKW7O0Q9qXNJVkgLSHt3fDmo?e=BcIE1t It happens with a newly created item also.
-
@dstillman It happens with other citation styles also. It is always the second action taken: if I create a new Word document and open the document preferences, the first citation entry causes the freeze. If a citation style has been chosen before, t…
-
@dstillman No, the issue persists.
-
@martynas_b Actually, it might be connected to the monitor used. I just witnessed that the issue doesn't appear when my MacBook Air is connected to an external monitor (1920 x 1080p) - the same one connected to the Windows 10 machine where this also…
-
@martynas_b Sure, can do. Yes, different to @linansybil I don't observe the issue on my office PC (Windows 10, beta 7 of Zotero). Could it have something to do with the mouse used? The mouse in my office doesn't allow for sideways scrolling whereas…
-
@martynas_b Thanks, sounds good! Ad 2): It happens with almost every pdf and consistently across devices. I took a short video of the issue using a random Journal article which can be retrieved here: https://www.jstor.org/stable/26490237?refreqid=e…
