Clarification: I'm using Word 2016 and the latest Zotero update. I read other discussions referring a similar error. I did switch from Chicago to Nature format and then back again.

doesn't seem to be that way. But thanks for pointing me to where to look. If I "unlink citations", can I go in and replace everything to clean it up? I would like to find the offending citation though.

where would it highlight, in the list of references in Zotero or in the document?

yeah, it's saying Item 2 in the highlighted citation no longer exists in my database. Do I want to select an alternative. I say yes and I get the error I posted. I can't see any highlighted citation. BUt we are using yellow highlights in our collabo…
