You're using an author-date style, so that's the expected behaviour. Switch to a Chicago note style and the citations will be moved to the footnotes.
-
What is the exact error message that you're receiving? Which format are you saving your files in? .docx?
-
@adamsmith They define a "Wiley APA" style in the guidelines. Shall we make that as a parent style? If it's defined we might come across that in the future also. edit: now looking at it in depth, it just looks like APA with "doi" prefix.

Style reviewed and available now: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=id:the-depositional-record

Because you're using the Chicago author-date style. That will always put it right in the text where you are as (Kim, 2011). Use one of the note styles instead: https://www.zotero.org/styles?q=chicago&format=note

Try this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/4c509501979796b29f003e7467dfe2833eff43f6/the-journal-of-pain.csl

See the documentation here. It's literally used as the code example: https://docs.citationstyles.org/en/stable/specification.html#sorting

I assume you're using "Centre de recherche sur les civilisations de l'Asie orientale (Français)"? That was the 2nd on the list, not the last one. You can just add " initialize-with="."" into the 2nd line of the code starting with

Ah, yes. I hadn't understood your problem fully due to my lack of French. Politix does not have the bibliography defined. Are you stuck with Politix or could you use a different style? The following styles are similar to Politix, but also have a b…

The Journal of Business Ethics is a dependent style of http://www.zotero.org/styles/springer-socpsych-author-date (which was last updated in 2019) I just checked a recent paper and the style looks to be correct: https://link.springer.com/content/pd…

No need for the screenshots. But thanks. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/545b64740cf4e40e51ef2948cfd29940fe7a8072/mcgill-fr.csl

What do the guidelines say? Can you post the example they give?

This style has it and is pretty similar to standard Vancouver. http://www.zotero.org/styles/obesity If you don't like this, you can now take that style and see how the locators were added (lines 79-82) and copy it to vancouver.csl. For guidance o…

Type: dataset just makes it a completely different item type, overriding the "report" which explains my explanation above.

Could you take a screenshot of that Nachmany entry in Zotero? (upload on Gdrive, Dropbox or https://imgbb.com/ or something alike) If it's really entered as item type "report" it should NOT give author names in the beginning. Only if it's something…

You're obviously not the only academic facing this issue. See for example this thread where the problem (and potential solutions) are discussed: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/393631#Comment_393631

Thanks. I've refactored the style a bit. Let me know if you find new issues. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/a6a2eecbf7bff19855106bdd8f6c73fe21cefdac/politix.csl

Thank you for the example, but I think you're just using an old style. If you use the style I provided above you get the following for a FOOTNOTE: Global trends in climate change legislation and litigation, par Michael Nachmany, Koninklijke Brill N…

Could you please use real-world examples? I can not replicate your issues and your citation actually looks off. A report would NOT have the author names at the beginning. Report also doesn't have the "Editor" field per default. Example report foot…

T&F have a set of standard styles they use throughout their journals. The above linked "Social Dynamics" style just points to T&F Chicago style we have. See https://www.zotero.org/styles/social-dynamics?source=1 You should've used that styl…

What is NBP? Can you give an example of what you see vs what you'd want to see. I'm not following your problem as of yet.

Can you try this and also check if you now notice issues with other item types? Again, I had to make some changes that affects other parts of the style. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/d6d9ca9d34ba3d1eb050572738d086…

Da wo du einen Autoren eingibst sind zwei so kleine Kästchen. Da draufklicken, dann gibt es bloß mehr ein Feld.

Your posts are very hard to read. It would help if you styled your posts like this going forward: " footnote/bibliography item type: Report Current output: abc... Wanted output: abc..."

Thesis: I don't have access to the guidelines, but I think that's correct as shown. Please confirm that via the guidelines since you have access to them. But I wouldn't use the word "fix" in your case. You only entered the metadata correctly so the …

I was able to see where the issue stems from. However, to fix it, I had to make a quite drastic change. Can you check if any of the other item types were now affected by this? https://raw.githubusercontent.com/citation-style-language/styles/61cc17…
