Can you confirm that you're using Zotero 7 beta? Or Zotero 6?
-
I think I read somewhere that the new PDF reader on Mac, coming in Zotero 7, would be much faster, and zoom (through the trackpad pinch gesture) would be significantly smoother, but I can't find the reference. Can someone confirm if this is the case?
-
Now is working fine!
-
I would also like this feature. Particularly for Books. I have a saved search that lists all Book items in my library. Would be handy to have the same on the iPad.
-
@archfung That's awesome. So PDF reading is nice already! Would be nice to also have nice annotation (highlighting, but also scribbles) support on the Vision Pro.
-
Hi, wondering if there's been any update on this feature request? Perhaps on the upcoming Zotero 7?
-
I'd also be curious to hear if anyone has tried the Zotero iPad app on the Vision Pro. Please share your experience.
-
Ah right, thanks.

> A feature to let you choose how long to keep local copies of uploaded files in order to save disk space is coming in a future version. That will be a nice feature, thanks. It will come in Zotero 7? Thanks.

Ok, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood this part: > currently that imports as a journal article because we don't handle preprints from Datacite properly, but that's something we'll actually fix, hopefully in the near future You're saying that the curre…

Ah okay. This "select area tool" creates only a rectangle border. It does not highlight (because the rectangle interior is not colored).
-
What is the "area" annotation tool ? I don't see it. Is this a Zotero 7 feature? Also, related: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/110523/overlapping-highlight-annotations-look-darker

Re: Adjacent lines. The example I posted above is quite common to me. I very frequently encounter papers where adjacent lines are so close that highlighting a paragraph produces many of these darker overlaps, which makes the text unpleasant to read.

Some apps that behaves differently here are Notability (https://notability.com) and Goodnotes (https://www.goodnotes.com). Admittedly these apps serve a quite different purpose (taking notes on tablets with a stylus), but they also can be used to re…

Why? Consider this example: https://ibb.co/pW7zH1n Here the highlights of consecutive lines are overlapping, simply because the lines are too close to each other (or the highlight stroke width is too large). Visually it looks harder to read, IMHO.

I see. In my Mac I have the language set to English (US). But there is also a separate setting for Date Format, which I set to YYYY-MM-DD. So maybe there is a generic way to decouple language from date format?

+1 for bookmarks. I would prefer bookmarks stored like Zotero annotations are, in the Zotero database, not in the actual PDF.
-
Okay, please do post here if you eventually give Zotero 7 beta a try.
-
@bjohas, are you on Zotero 6 or Zotero 7 beta?
-
Alright thanks. I just wanted to have some idea of what numbers to expect. Looking forward to Zotero 7!

A related issue occurs when I rotate the phone screen (vertical to horizontal) and back (horizontal to vertical). Then I find that the screen does not return to the exact original position and zoom . This again is confusing and makes me lose track o…

Ok. I am using Zotero 6 latest stable version. I have a MacBook Air M2. My library has about 20k items (mostly PDF articles, but also some books, thesis, ...) and growing fast, so my question is whether I should worry if I keep adding items. My bib…

I have disabled indexing (I set "Maximum characters to index per file" and "Maximum pages to index per file" settings to 0). I just usually search by author, title. Does that make a performance difference for very large libraries (>100k items)?

Sorry to revive an old topic, but was curious if there have been updates on this with more recent Zotero versions?
