Could you send the PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

Could you send an example PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

@tre2017 I would really like this - a keyboard shortcut which will highlight the selected text in the last chosen colour. Also, we have new keyboard shortcuts for accessibility purposes that do exactly what you described. Try to select text and pres…

1) Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”)? 2) Do you observe this behavior immediately after opening Zotero and a PDF file, without clicking anywhere in the Zotero Reader? In other words, is there …

@joelmurphy Zotero preserves the existing character order in a PDF page. Some other viewers re-sort characters based on their visual position, while others, like Adobe Reader (you can try to select all text), do not. In theory, we could implement th…

Other colors (excluding background and foreground colors) are automatically adjusted to maintain contrast across different light and dark themes. However, this is not yet ideal, and we plan to improve it in future Zotero versions.

IEEE papers use low-resolution raster images instead of vector graphics for formulas, but we made some changes to work around this issue.
-
There is no such thing as “scroll on hover” in Zotero Reader. You should check your system for the issue.
-
We'll try to fix that. Thanks for reporting.
-
Because the OCR software created an unnatural text flow, try selecting text from top to bottom. Some PDF viewers attempt to fix this, but it can cause side effects. For example Acrobat Reader doesn't do that. The best option is to re-OCR the book.

Can you provide exact steps to reproduce issue #3, when it shrinks to a very small size?
-
We’ll fix the context menu not showing issue on Windows in the next update. @warwickmm Do you know why the button text isn’t vertically centered for you? Are you using Linux? Do you see this in other parts of Zotero?
-
1. The slider is for creating new annotations. To modify the font size of an existing text annotation, right-click on it. 3. The width is restored only when there is no text. If there is enough text to fill the line, the width will be preserved.
-
We’ll see if we can do anything about that. Another PDF viewer I tested also has the same issue. Thanks for reporting it.
-
Could you include screenshots so we can better understand the issues?
-
If attachments are synced to Zotero storage, the added images should be visible in the Web Library as well. If not, can you provide step-by-step instructions to reproduce the issue?
-
Can you show examples of those old scanned journals and newspapers? Maybe send some to support@zotero.org and include a link to this thread.
-
We'll see if we can fix that.
-
We'll fix it—thanks.

Do you want a strict single-page mode only when searching or always? Could you also explain in which cases it would be useful?
-
This is an interesting suggestion but Zoom to Page Height isn't strictly about showing only a single page at a time. I know some PDF readers support a dedicated single-page mode, where sticking to one page makes sense when searching. Also, not ever…

The provided file has two pages merged into one PDF page, which is unusual, and there's not much we can do about it. In such cases, we are considering adding support for multiple text selection ranges.
-
@JohannesWiesner Do you mean that text in this specific file can be selected in Okular without numbers, but in Zotero it cannot? If so please send the PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
-
Can you reproduce that in Firefox?
-
You can test whether you can copy text in a different PDF viewer, but it’s most likely that the file lacks proper character mapping. If this is the case, you will need software to perform OCR and recreate the text layer.
-
We'll fix it — thanks.

Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins? If so, could you make a screenshot demonstrating the issue?
-
You have to do File -> Save As… from PDF tab.
-
If drawing in the Web Library PDF reader is slow, it likely indicates graphical acceleration issues with your device. I'm curious if other Surface 9 Pro users can reproduce this issue.
-
Well, you should try out Z7 first because there are many changes in the Zotero Reader.
