Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins? If so, could you make a screenshot demonstrating the issue?
-
You have to do File -> Save As… from PDF tab.
-
If drawing in the Web Library PDF reader is slow, it likely indicates graphical acceleration issues with your device. I'm curious if other Surface 9 Pro users can reproduce this issue.
-
Well, you should try out Z7 first because there are many changes in the Zotero Reader.
-
Try using \\[1em] for line separation.
-
Could you test if Zotero 7 latest beta has the same issue? On the Zotero Web Library PDF reader on Firefox the rendering is completely normal, while the pen annotations are still unusable, both with surface pen and mouse. Do you mean it’s very slow…
-
Yes, I suppose we could consider triggering the import when previewing the PDF in the sidebar.
-
@pummo Can you test with the Firefox integrated PDF reader (Zotero reader is based on it) to see if the problem occurs? Can you test if the same problem occurs in the Zotero Web Library PDF reader when using the Firefox browser? Also check if Sett…

Yes, moving a mouse over PDF view is triggering partial PDF page redraws, and we plan to optimize that a little bit. But normally that's not a problem at all. And the main issue is with your hardware or OS.
-
1. Is mouse dragging over a PDF is the only performance issue and everything else in Zotero work smoothly? 2. How old is the computer?
-
1) Can you reproduce this in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins? 2) Does it happen with all files? 3) Can you provide a Debug ID for it happening?
-
It will be fixed in the next update — thanks.
-
Adding ink annotations to Zotero notes is not currently supported.
-
We already have a fix for that, and it will be included in a future Zotero version. Thanks for reporting.
-
We'll see if we can improve that. Thanks.
-
Let us know if you’re able to reproduce this in the latest beta.
-
If you highlight text and then copy the highlight annotation into a text editor, it should include a link. Isn’t that sufficient?
-
Good observation. We should completely ignore searches consisting of only spaces, whether it’s a single space or multiple spaces. Spaces should only matter when separating words.
-
However, I cannot use the right mouse button, which will arouse the context menu belonging to the whole annotations. Good catch. We'll fix it.
-
So far, I can’t reproduce that. If you could provide the exact steps to reproduce it, it would help a lot.
-
This happens because the description of Fig. 4 is placed between [16] and [17] in the text flow. Thanks for the example—we’ll see if we can improve this.
-
@ateloiv For both files, Zotero successfully extracts page numbers from the pages (except for the ToC pages, where Roman numerals are used). Do you mean you want to use completely different page numbers than those written on the PDF pages, or do yo…
-
@Xav781 It should happen automatically.
-
What do you usually see in the metadata pages field? Is it empty, or is the range incorrect? Also, if you create a highlight and then add it to a note, it should display the correct page number.
-
I can't reproduce the issue, but we already have a fix for a very similar problem involving Chinese characters. Hopefully, this fix will resolve your issue as well. It should be included in one of the upcoming Zotero updates.
-
Yes, we have a fix for it, and it will likely appear in an update soon.
-
Is there a difference if you disable all third-party plugins?
-
@Infinitivity Please list all viewers that can render the file properly.
-
The question is whether the desktop version of Zotero isn’t syncing the file to the WebDAV server, or if the iOS app isn’t syncing it from the server. Can you also provide a Debug ID for it happening?
-
We can try increasing the time the mouse cursor needs to hover over the target to trigger the popup. Do you think that would help in your case?
