@maxpiner in the next update opacity will be taken into account, although I still recommend to just pick lighter colors instead of using opacity.
-
Actually, the issue nr. 2 still appears in some circumstances, but it will be fixed in the next update.
-
Thanks for reporting. It will be fixed soon.
-
@maxpiner could you send an example PDF with an opacity to support@zotero.org also including a link this thread? Zotero annotations won't be able to keep the alpha channel, but we should probably apply it to the color when importing.
-
@maxpiner I'm wondering if the opacity is included when you are saving PDF file in Foxit reader. Do other PDF viewers display those highlights with opacity?
-
1) We will fix that. 2) Zotero PDF reader tries to extract page label directly from page text or use the already assigned page labels, and only then falls back to page index (1,2,3). If that doesn't work, could you provide an example PDF where the i…

You are right, we will fix that.
-
This is by design, partially to indicate that the search button is for PDF search and not for something else, and partially because of some technical limitations.
-
Thanks for reporting. We'll fix this.
-
@nerimarsili the performance issues will be fixed in the next beta update.
-
Does that PDF file work well if you open it with https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html ? Additionally, if you are comfortable providing the PDF file (or just a part of it that still breaks the reader) that would help us to reproduce the …

Thanks for reporting. It's unrelated with note editor. This is highlight annotation text extraction issue. The exported PDF seems to have misaligned text layer. We'll improve the extraction. Which browser you were using to export the PDF?
-
@eporte Evince still creates two individual annotations. In future we will also allow to select across pages and create multiple annotations.
-
In PDF standard everything is strictly divided into separate pages. Unfortunately, there is no trick to achieve this. Do you know any PDF reader that would allow to do something like that?
-
We will fix that.
-
Most likely the URL is just missing. We probably shouldn't display this error. What happens when you click it in any other PDF viewer?
-
@christianau drag handles currently don't support dragging into another Zotero note, but they will in future. At the moment you can just select text and drag it. Dragging into word processor might be technically limited, but we will consider that.
-
@christianau when you drag one Zotero note into another, the content of the first note should be inserted. If that doesn't work, can you provide more information how exactly are you doing that? Does it happen with all notes? Additionally, you can u…

@mschwarze @linansybil the "gray area" issue should be fixed in the latest update. @qqbb thanks for pointing me to layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. It helped to reproduce the issue.
-
@seeingtheforest 1) It'll be fixed in the next update. 2) You are right. But I guess you mostly care about focusing the comment box when it's empty or are you also editing them when they already have text? 3) Customizable toolbar is not planned, b…

There is no easy fix, but in future updates we will try to address this. How much text do you normally select to read out? Multiple pages? Do other parts of Zotero work well with screen readers or only the PDF reader matters for your workflow?
-
Some redesign work is already planned for the tabs. That involves PDF icon, system colors (for Windows and Linux), dragging feedback. We can consider the alignment change as well.
-
@octavabasso text color and text background color formatting options will be added. Do you expect to have the same colors? How many colors are necessary for your workflow? @scholarium most likely citations are consuming the space. We're preparing a…
-
@mschwarze could you send this PDF to support@zotero.org also referencing this thread URL? Have you tested this on other platforms besides macOS? Are there PDFs for which this issue never happens?
-
@mschwarze thanks. 1) It'll be fixed 2) We can't reproduce that. @mschwarze @linansybil does that happen for all PDF files all the time or only for specific ones? There's a chance this is improved in the latest beta. 3) It'll be fixed 4) We'll try …
-
@mossposs have those notes with images existed before the beta, or you've just added them recently? Also have you dragged/pasted those images from somewhere?
-
Bug report for the beta: Not sure if this has been noticed yet, but notes in 5.0.97 are automatically correcting "[number] + [.] + [space]" to "1." Thus, "2." becomes "1." if a space is added after the period. @polsenharbich You are right, we will m…

Thanks for reporting. Created an issue https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/1982

Thanks for reporting. It will be fixed in the next version.

The update for our PDF recognition system is on the way. The recognition of Springer books and series should be much better now. Thanks for reporting.
