It's not the first time we encounter this issue. The files are always produced with "HathiTrust Image Server" and has some non-standard headers in scanned images. We already reported this issue to PDF.js (our underlying PDF reader library).
-
@JimHokanson Just creating a highlight doesn't seem to clear search results. Could you give exact steps what are you doing?
-
We'll fix this — thanks.
-
This is really weird. I guess we have to wait for Zotero 7 and see if that still happens, because Zotero 6 has other issues related to cursor positioning in note editor as well.
-
We still can't reproduce that. Could you repeat the same actions and provide a Debug ID? And if you don't switch to Chinese character input mode, the issue doesn't appear, right?
-
1) Could you write down the exact steps to reproduce the issue consistently? 2) What operating system do you use? 3) Does it happen with other languages or only with Chinese? 4) A video would be helpful as well.
-
@hsiangyu_wong The issue will be fixed in the next update.
-
Yes, if citation is wrapped to another line, it's difficult to place cursor after it. This will be fixed in Zotero 7.
-
Can you upload a screenshot demonstrating the issue?
-
We need to update PDF.js to handle it.
-
And if you run Zotero.getActiveZoteroPane().loadURI('zotero://') with Tools → Developer → Run JavaScript, does it also make Zotero unusable?
-
1) Which Zotero version do you use? 2) Does it happen with all PDFs? 2) Does the PDF file already exist in the group library? If so, Zotero won't copy it, therefore annotations won't be copied as well.
-
No option for alignment though. Alignment options are in the context menu.
-
It won't affect existing annotations. Only new annotations or changes aren't saved.
-
This will be fixed in the next beta, later today. Sorry for that.
-
We are fixing this.
-
Yes, it exceeds Zotero memory limits and won't work. We will try to properly handle this error, but for now you can: 1) Move that file out from Zotero data directory. That should allow you to load Zotero without errors. 2) Compress the file. I don't…
-
It seems that related Popup annotations aren't deleted. We'll fix that.
-
How big is the PDF file?
-
Can you access Help menu and do Debug Output Logging → Restart With Logging Enabled…, and then submit debug log?
-
There are some text selection issues that can be fixed only after we release Zotero 7 and upgrade PDF.js.
-
We'll soon fix the issue where link isn't fully clickable. But the spacing issue is more complicated, and relatively rare, therefore it'll only be addressed in future when we rewrite our text extraction engine.
-
Could you give steps how to reproduce the issue? Does it happen all the time?
-
We'll report the issue to PDF.js (our underlying library).
-
Yes, Preview.app recognizes ligatures correctly in this file, but other two PDF readers, that I tested, also show empty characters.
-
1) Does it happen with all PDF files? 2) Are annotations imported into Zotero or not? 3) What annotation types there are?
-
We need an example PDF where annotations are visible in other viewers but not in Zotero. You can send it to support@zotero.org also including a link to this thread.
-
Yes, it makes sense. We'll fix this.
-
You can try reporting it here.
-
This is already fixed in a newer PDF.js version (the underlying library behind Zotero PDF reader). But we'll upgrade only after releasing Zotero 7.
