@unturned3 Could you make a screenshot demonstrating the issue?
-
Could you test if the file is rendered correctly in https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html ?
-
Does it render correctly if you open the PDF file with https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html ? If so, it'll likely be fixed in Zotero 7.
-
Could you tell more about your use case? Why do you need that small area? It would become very large and blurry in the sidebar.
-
It should be fixed in a future Zotero 7 Beta version.
-
@moore.709 It'll be fixed in Zotero 7.
-
Could you send an example PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
Yes, this happens because of file size, because Zotero 6 on Windows is only 32-bit and can utilize only a limited amount of your memory. The issue will be fixed in Zotero 7.
-
Weird. If you merge items with PDF files that aren't identical, you should have both copies in the new item. I can't reproduce the disappearing annotations issue.
-
Could be the same issue. Tags list is overflowing and expanding item pane height, and then all other panes follow.

Could you make a screenshot?

It appears that the PDF file lacks an OCR text layer. If you are using Preview.app as your "external viewer," it's performing OCR on the text in real time.
-
The PDF file is partially corrupted, and even though PDF viewers can display it, the annotation importer is more sensitive and crashes. We'll try to improve this in future.

Is anyone else using Linux also experiencing this issue?

Could you make a video demonstrating the issue?

Is this a scanned PDF file where some lines have slightly rotated lines?
-
Does this occur all the time or only under specific circumstances, such as when a sync is in progress?
-
This will be implemented in Zotero 7 release version.

It's better to post development questions to zotero-dev. We try to keep technical discussions there. Yes, rects are using the standard PDF coordinate system and, as you said, they start from bottom-left corner and their format is [left, bottom, rig…

The compression is probably aggressively removing fonts, and Zotero PDF reader doesn't have fallback fonts. Most likely the issue will be fixed in Zotero 7.
-
In the future, it will be possible to drop multiple selected annotations on a tag.
-
Citations that have already been inserted into notes can only be updated individually through the citation dialog.
-
Future Zotero versions will behave according to the standard. Thanks for reporting.
-
If you are talking about dragging an annotation from Zotero PDF reader, you can fix the page number by double-clicking it directly on the annotation in the PDF reader.
-
The right pane is not supported in a standalone PDF reader window.
-
Link annotations in the PDF file are specifically configured to display those red rectangles. From a technical standpoint, readers that display them are considered more "correct". However, future versions of the Zotero PDF viewer likely won't displa…
-
It appears that the PDF viewer used to create the annotations has produced invalid data, causing the Zotero annotation importer to crash. However, other viewers are still capable of displaying these annotations. We will try to do that in the future …
