I haven’t been able to reproduce this issue yet. If someone else can, please send the debug log as well. I suspect it might be linked to the same issue causing annotation comment cursor to jump to the beginning when typing rapidly.

The problem is that the link can become very long, especially for EPUB and snapshot annotations. Possibly even longer than the maximum allowed link length (~2048). Of course most of the time it would be short enough.

@nhan000 We'll fix the issue where the annotation isn't highlighted when navigating to it via a link. @mjthoraval In this case, it won't work as we aim to avoid encoding the annotation's position into the link.

@DENGJ8 Yes, it would make sense to preserve the thickness in one or another way. However, I wonder if the same thickness is appropriate for all PDF files, given their varying page dimensions and font sizes.

Could you say more? I.e.: 1) How many tabs are open? 2) How much memory Zotero uses in total? 3) Does it happen with all PDF? 4) Is the PDF file a scanned paper?

2) I mean we can use 2-direction arrows for text (FreeText) annotation if it has 0, 90, 180, 270 degrees rotation. Otherwise it will remain 4-directions. I tested Preview.app and it does the same, but I also remember more software doing this.

Normally, OCR software can auto-rotate text, but it's unclear why some pages in your PDF aren't rotated. It varies with different OCR tools.

1) Does it happen if you create a new empty note and try to insert the citation? 2) Are you changing any properties of the citation (i.e. page number) when inserting it into the note?

We're aware of the issue, but changing z-index won't help here because different iframes are involved. Anyway, thanks for reporting, we'll try to fix that by never positioning popups under that pane.
