Yes, in Zotero 7 beta both views can be used to view or create annotations.
-
Yes, I think it's the same issue. The fix will be in the next update.
-
Does the issue persist when all third-party plugins are disabled? If it does, you'll need to identify the problematic plugin and report to its developers.
-
We'll fix it — thanks.
-
Do you know any other software that does "erase by lines"?
-
Ok, here's what I believe is happening: The dictionary does get installed, but the process encounters an issue at the final step when it tries to delete the temporary file. Due to this partial failure, the dictionary gets uninstalled. This issue cou…

Does it help if you run Zotero as administrator?
-
This issue is likely due to the deprecated rotation setting, which rotates all pages when the 'r' key is pressed on the keyboard. Despite being deprecated, a bug allows this feature to remain active in some keyboard layouts. We plan to completely ig…

It seems to be a permission issue. Does it work if you try to install any other language? You can also try to delete 'C:\Users\mjthoraval\AppData\Local\Temp\Zotero'.
-
@marinho.barcellos You can already shrink or expand existing highlight annotations in Zotero 7 beta.
-
It should be fixed in the next update.

It should be fixed in the next update. Thanks for reporting.

@mm623 Also, just for the record, how exactly did you delete those annotations, and how many?
-
Well, this actually happens even with the latest Firefox version. So it seems to be a Firefox issue, and we probably can't do much about it.
-
We'll try to fix that — thanks.
-
It can happen in some PDF files. We'll see what we can do. Thanks for reporting.
-
@mjthoraval We'll fix it. Thanks for reporting.
-
Can you provide a Debug ID instead?
-
You can try the Zotero 7 beta, which depends less on system fonts (in cases where they aren't embedded in the PDF file).
-
But, it's weird that Cmd + Y works everywhere, but not in the Zotero notes. Where exactly it works for you?
-
Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z works everywhere. Ctrl + Y works on Windows/Linux.
-
We'll fix it — thanks. By the way, the annotation isn't actually selected, it's only focused. Pressing Tab and then using the arrow keys allows navigating through annotations and links on the current PDF page.
-
Yes, we currently rely on the default behavior of Firefox, on which Zotero is based. In Firefox, formatting can only be changed when the desired text is selected. However, we'll explore whether this can be improved. For instance, on Chrome and the W…

Does the issue persist when you close the reader tab and reopen it, or does it only occur when you paste new content into the comment field?
-
The PDF file text layer is broken. It happens with all readers that I tested including Acrobat Reader and Preview.app.
-
Thanks for the video! Unfortunately, this is the behavior of text selection in Firefox (upon which Zotero is based) on Windows. However, we will consider trimming the spaces around the selection when creating an annotation.
-
I can't reproduce that. 1) Does it happen with all EPUB files? 2) Could you make a screenshot (or even a video) demonstrating the issue?
-
I forgot to mention that Zotero is based on Firefox therefore they share similar behavior and sometimes we just debug on Firefox to determine if this is Zotero or Firefox problem.
-
Does the issue persist if you disable all third-party plugins?
-
@shriyam547 Does it work for you in Firefox on macOS?
