Could you send the problematic file (or upload it somewhere and send the link) to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
It seems to be fixed in the Zotero 7 beta.

Hopefully these popups can be replaced by the new automatic extraction of references, figures and equations. Yes, we expect that to work with many more documents in the future. But for now, we aim to make it more stable and show fewer false positive…

We'll try to improve that—thanks.

But you can filter your own annotations by selecting your username at the bottom of the annotation sidebar.

It should be fixed in the latest beta.

For what purpose do you need that?

@nathan.hopson The file you provided does not appear to have any text layer, making the text unselectable in any PDF viewer I tested.

It’ll be fixed in the next update—thanks

In the next update, regular words being falsely recognized as citations will be significantly reduced.

It'll be fixed in the next update — thanks.

@mjthoraval I am curious which papers can support the feature and which ones cannot. For example, recent PRL papers do not seem to get the popup window for references, although they seem to be nicely formatted This specific style, where the number i…

I doubt we can do anything about that. I see the same lines in Preview.app, PDF expert and Chrome PDF viewer.
