Could you send the PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
We'll fix it—thanks.
-
It should be fixed now.
-
It should be fixed in the latest beta.
-
@andyzhang1 I can reproduce the issue with the file that was sent, but I noticed that if I download the file again from Springer, the internal links work fine.
-
This is fixed in the latest beta. Thanks for reporting.
-
For what purpose do you need that?
-
@nathan.hopson The file you provided does not appear to have any text layer, making the text unselectable in any PDF viewer I tested.
-
It’ll be fixed in the next update—thanks
-
In the next update, regular words being falsely recognized as citations will be significantly reduced.

It'll be fixed in the next update — thanks.

@mjthoraval I am curious which papers can support the feature and which ones cannot. For example, recent PRL papers do not seem to get the popup window for references, although they seem to be nicely formatted This specific style, where the number i…

I doubt we can do anything about that. I see the same lines in Preview.app, PDF expert and Chrome PDF viewer.
-
@mgwientjes Could you send the file that is causing the crash?
-
@hiattallen Could you send the PDF to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? Normally, we try to automatically disable this feature for the files you mentioned.
-
@warwickmm Please send the PDF file.

It'll be fixed in the next update — thanks.

-
But can you still reproduce that in the latest beta?
-
This is a complicated case. There is a link annotation over the entire reference, but it uses a clipping path to exclude the black text area. Some viewers, like PDF Expert, display the whole rectangle, while others, like Preview.app, show the link w…

Eventually the new features will work on many more documents, but it will take time.
-
And yes, the new features activate only after the document is fully loaded, ensuring they don’t disrupt usage. Activation may take a few seconds or more, as it requires relatively heavy processing as well.
-
Yes, if the reference can’t be matched but the PDF has an internal link on the in-text citation, it will function like any other internal link preview. Additionally, it now renders the entire page but trims the margins and centers on the red spot, …

We'll fix this soon. Thanks for reporting.
-
Is it helpful to you if I report all the problems I'm seeing with this feature? Definitely helpful!
-
Thanks for the examples. We'll try to fix those issues in future versions.
-
You're right. We'll think how we could improve that.
-
Are you still experiencing the issue? If so, could you make a video? I am unable to reproduce the issue here.
-
Can you reproduce this in the latest beta?

This is fixed in the latest beta. Thanks for reporting.
