Do you have an example of this feature in another software?”
-
Can you reproduce this issue using the original version of PDF.js https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html ?
-
It would be complicated for it to determine to which note window to add the annotation, therefore, it's better to just use copy and paste in this case, which will achieve the same result.
-
Possibly, the annotations haven't been imported yet and exist only in the PDF file. Do you see the annotations when you open the PDF in another viewer? If so, using File → Import Annotations should import them.
-
That's a known issue. The text layer is sometimes misaligned with the rendered text. This can happen with certain PDF files, but it usually works correctly with most PDFs. The same problem likely occurs when using the Firefox PDF viewer, as Zotero R…

We'll fix it—thanks.
-
Yes, we hope to address all of these issues. Thanks for reporting.
-
@Kbata 1. Do you see your username on the annotations? 2. When were those annotations created? 3. What happens if you create new annotations, close the PDF, and reopen it? Can you edit them? 4. Could you also provide a screenshot demonstrating the …

Yes, dark margins are planned. Thanks for reporting.
-
Could you send the PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
Right, this isn't normal Zotero behavior. It seems like graphical acceleration isn't working properly on your computer in Zotero. Your high resolution likely amplifies the issue. However, so far we don't have an idea why that happens.
-
Could you provide a clearer description or a screenshot of exactly what you need and where you want to see it?
-
But what about papers that are not from IEEE? Are you experiencing any performance issues with them?
-
Could you check if Firefox renders those PDF files smoothly, since Zotero is based on Firefox?
-
Can you check if Settings → Advanced → Config Editor → layers.acceleration.disabled value is true or false?
-
Is there a difference if you disable all third-party plugins?
-
Do you get that memory usage immediately after restarting Zotero and opening any three PDF files, or do you need to do something more to reach that memory usage?
-
Can you send an example file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
Do you mean when using the outline sidebar in Zotero Reader? When you click an outline entry, it gets selected, and then arrow keys move to another entry. This is common behavior in PDF viewers. If you don't want this, click anywhere on the page to …
-
Direct link copying is planned, but for now, you need to copy the annotation and paste it into a plain text editor to view the actual annotation link.
-
This isn't planned. It's better to create a highlight and then add it to a note instead.
-
Question for those experiencing lag: Do you notice the same lag when drawing with a mouse/trackpad as with the pen?
-
Can you provide a Debug ID for it happening?
-
We'll try to fix that—thanks.
-
Does it open in other PDF viewers?
-
On which Zotero version did it stop working, and on which version (maybe 6?) was it still working?
-
@gclin Can you make a screenshot of the full annotation sidebar?⬤
-
Most likely, this is a plugin issue. You should investigate which plugin is causing that and report the issue to its developers.
-
It's already fixed in Zotero 7.0.5.
-
Yes, currently you will need to export them and use an external tool.
