We'll try to fix that—thanks.
-
Can you reproduce the issue when all third-party plugins are disabled?
-
Is it possible that Zotero was syncing your library at that time?
-
Could you update to 114 again and provide a Debug ID for it happening?
-
Does this happen with all PDF files? OCRed PDF files might use more CPU resources.
-
Yes, the Zotero 7 reader has a custom text layer with some limitations. Currently, to highlight text, you must use the highlighting tool, and to scroll pages, all annotation tools must be disabled. We expect to fix this in future versions of Zotero.
-
@bames Can you specify exactly what the problem is for you?
-
@cszarvaskidd That is already partially implemented in the Zotero 7 beta.
-
We likely know where the problem is and will try to fix it. Next time, you can just post to the same thread.
-
This will be fixed in future versions of Zotero—thanks.
-
Please let us know if you manage to reproduce it again.
-
I can’t reproduce this issue and am unsure if the reader search is the problem. Don’t you experience slowdowns elsewhere in Zotero or your computer? Can anyone else reproduce this issue?
-
It will be fixed in the next update—thanks.
-
1) Do you mean the search within the Zotero reader is slow, or is the search across all PDFs in the Library tab slow? 2) Do you experience this will all PDF files?
-
Fixed in Zotero 7 beta.
-
@unifields The issue with * and _ interfering with math nodes is fixed in the latest Zotero 7 beta.
-
The issue is already fixed in Zotero 7 beta.
-
@poettli At first, I was unable to do it too, but I followed the video step by step and managed to reproduce it. The last key pressed is _, which triggers the conversion to italic.
-
The issue will be fixed in the upcoming Zotero updates. Thanks for reporting.
-
Can you provide more details? 1) Does it happen only in dark mode? 2) Which OS are you using? 3) What is your screen resolution? 4) Do you see this problem with other PDF viewers that support dark mode? 5) Does this issue occur with other PDF files?
-
Sorry, but this annotation tool isn’t designed for filling out tables or forms.
-
Can you test with third-party plugins disabled? If the problem still exists, could you send an example PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
We'll investigate—thanks.
-
The PDF file uses a sophisticated technique to make links multiline, but this doesn’t work on many PDF viewers, including Preview, PDF Expert, and Chrome viewer, although it works on the original PDF.js. It’s unlikely that we’ll fix this issue anyti…

Shift + arrow keys is fixed. In future we'll add shift+ctrl/option+arrow keys as well.
-
Already fixed in Zotero 7 beta.
-
@mjthoraval Nothing slips past your eyes! This will be fixed in the next update—thanks!
-
@nicholajraihani You can either use Zotero 7 beta or wait for the final release.
-
Already fixed in Zotero 7 beta.
