It only includes annotations that are inside PDF (also EPUB and snapshot) files.
-
So maybe that annotation hasn’t been imported from the PDF file yet? Does using File → Import Annotations… help?
-
Editing annotations made by other users isn't allowed in group libraries. You should also see the username next to the lock icon.
-
Do you mean there are Note annotations on PDF pages that aren't included in the "Create note from annotations" result?
-
We'll try to fix that.
-
It seems this only happens when PDF file doesn’t have a parent item, correct?
-
We'll fix it—thanks.
-
Do you mean the problem only occurs when there is no comment? Otherwise, does it successfully copy the links?
-
Can you provide a Debug ID for it happening?
-
We'll see what we can do here. Thanks for reporting.
-
The behaviour in the PDF reader is a bit more curious on closer inspection; what seems to happen is: We'll fix it—thanks.
-
So far, I can't reproduce it. 1) Does it happen with all PDF files? 2) Have you tried with all third-party plugins disabled, if you have any? 3) Could you make a video demonstrating the issue?
-
@garbus Can you check if graphics acceleration in Settings → Advanced → Config Editor → layers.acceleration.disabled is set to false?
-
@garbus 1) Can you test with all third-party plugins disabled, if you have any? 2) Are the PDF files OCRed? 3) Could you test CPU usage with a simple PDF file, like https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf?
-
1) Does it happen if you disable all third-party Zotero plugins? 2) Do you have any custom Note Templates configured?
-
1) Does it happen with other PDF files as well? 2) What happens if you add another highlight annotation to the same file using Web Library? Is it visible?
-
We'll fix it in future Zotero versions. Thanks for reporting.
-
@garbus 1) What is the CPU usage when you stop scrolling compared to when you scroll? 2) Does this issue occur with all PDF files? 3) Does restarting Zotero help?
-
We're investigating. Thanks for reporting.

The PDF file doesn’t include embedded fonts, so fallback fonts are used, which can lead to unpredictable results. You can try opening the PDF in Acrobat Reader and saving a new copy. This should embed the fonts.
-
Good point. We'll try to improve that.
-
Yes, it's planned.
-
Sorry, I misinterpreted what you said and thought you were talking about the in-PDF preview where you can preview internal links. Do you mean that when you resize the right pane, the PDF page width at some point stops increasing?
-
Zotero 6 already supports inserting an image into a note via right-click: Insert -> Image. Or were you asking for something else?
-
We'll try to fix those—thanks.

However, there is a similar function on iPadOS, but it does not work! figure bellow. That's because the selected annotation colors are different.
-
For large displays, and if you not only want to preview a figure but also read text, it might be better to use split screen mode. We plan to add a quick way to open the preview page using Cmd/Ctrl + click (or a similar shortcut). Would that solve y…

Does new annotation creation on that page work normally?
-
We'll fix it—thanks.

At the moment, I see that the comment box has a merge function, which doesn't seem to have any effect? That's from one of your plugins. Ink annotation merging is planned.
