@binary10 Can you reproduce that in the latest Zotero version?
-
Once again, do you have a file that performs worse on Zotero 7 compared to Zotero 6?
-
@binary10 Could you write down the exact steps so we can reproduce this?
-
How does the blurriness change when you zoom in or out?
-
The red point target in the PDF is set by the creator. We only display it.
-
@samvimes Ok, I can reproduce this. We'll fix it. Thanks.
-
@fronbasal Could you send an example PDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? Also could you provide a Debug ID for it happening?
-
@nonchalant.se @fronbasal Does this happen with all PDF files?
-
Currently, only date and title variables are supported. Title is just a localized "Annotations" word. Could you explain your workflow in more detail so we can better understand why citation title is necessary?
-
Thanks for the explanation. We'll consider implementing selection.
-
Copying text from the note editor produces Markdown output, adding an unnecessary slash to escape the dot. We'll look into fixing this.
-
@ygna0512 Does the issue occur when typing in other fields within the Zotero client, such as the search field in the Zotero library tab?
-
@Ackermansad Could you write out the steps we need to follow to reproduce the Zotero crash?
-
Why do you need it to be selected?
-
If you are using Zotero 6, the first step is to upgrade to Zotero 7.
-
@ponyma Also you can try Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”) that disables all third-party plugins, to see if there is any difference.
-
Isn't View → Layout → Stacked View sufficient?
-
Note annotations can't be directly linked to specific text, you can only position them near the text. For linking to specific text, use highlight or underline annotations.
-
Good point. We'll try to fix that.
-
@ponyma 1) And if you close those two PDFs, how much does the memory usage drop after waiting for a bit? 2) Are those PDFs scanned papers? 3) What is the size of those PDFs, and how many pages do they have?
-
Selecting an annotation in the reader pane and pressing tab just switches focus into the notes pane, which will then capture the arrow key presses, and doesn't navigate annotations for me. If the annotation is selected you have to press Escape befor…
-
Yes, that was intentional. To navigate annotations as a list, you need to select one from the annotation list in the sidebar. However, in document view, it’s now possible to select any annotation or link in the text by pressing TAB and using the arr…
-
It seems there's a regression, and it no longer focuses on an annotation comment when clicking on a newly created annotation or an annotation without a comment. I assume this is what you're referring to. We'll fix it.

When I'm working, it's easy to forget that the PDF is open in Zotero, as opposed to Acrobat. So, by reflex and habit, I'll click the "X" in the top right-corner of the program to close the PDF when I'm done with it. This ends up closing Zotero as a …

Latex in annotation comments is not supported, sorry.
-
Could you try opening a PDF file in the Firefox browser to see if the same issues occur as they do in Zotero?
-
Thanks for the video. But are you sure that other software on your device doesn't have the same issue?
-
@ponyma 1. How much memory does Zotero use? 2. How many PDFs are open? 3. Does this happen with all PDF files?
-
First, a rotation button would be really nice (as a ton of journals format tables sideways, and they need to be rotated to read them). Isn't Edit -> Rotate Page Left/Right enough? Second, I routinely accidentally close Zotero when viewing a PDF (…

How exactly are you creating them in Acrobat Reader?
