@dan - could we create ticket to add a "select all matching items" option on right-click of the saved search? that would allow users to tag all found items at once without having to select them manually
-
All Chicago styles include publisher location. Do you put the location in the "Place" field?
-
@dpgetman -- did you append "?sort=note" to the end of the URL?
-
As sean and tjowens note, notetaking is a very individual process, so none of the advice may work for you. I organize everything using tags and saved searches and have been pretty happy with zotero functions on this so far. I tag everything by cha…

Well, actually Zotero shouldn't sort multiple references in one citation by default. In history footnotes often refer to the whole paragraph and in that case the order of references would depend on where the quote from the source appears within the …

spike--try it, it is a solution relevant to your problem

Journal volume numbers are not italicised. This has been fixed in Dev Styles, but now book volume numbers are also italicized which I think is incorrect. If someone can point me to a good online APA citation guide, I could probably fix most of these…

Okay, it's not in CSL schema but it is in Zotero, so if you add it it should work already.

Read instructions before downloading--there are some risks involved in running the dev version: http://dev.zotero.org/svn_and_trac_access#development_xpi
-
As I mention above, SBL style does not work with 1.0.3: It will work with dev xpi and with the upcoming 1.0.4 version. You can download dev xpi while you're waiting for 1.0.4 and then just install 1.0.4 on top of the dev version.

You may want to suggest adding this feature on the CSL development list: http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=117435 To view existing CSL specifications you can download svn: http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=117435 More at http://dev.zotero.o…

I don't think such an option exists. According to SBL style guide subsequent citations should always include short title: http://www.sbl-site.org/assets/pdfs/SBLHS.pdf

Sorry, the ibid issue should really be solved globally in Zotero--otherwise we'd have to create a no-ibid version for each note style. But you can easily edit the existing style yourself--just delete the if/else-if statements that contain ibid.

Exhibitions aren't "publications" really; they're events. More like, say, a public speech, rather than a book. Well, there should be a way to cite exhibits in the upcoming hierarchical item types structure--Zotero currently supports presentations wh…

Yes, currently titles of multivolume works are not supported--this will be available when hierarchical item types are implemented.
-
>Bluebook style is really illogical, so I've graphed out the structures of the different types of citations and I can't see how they can all be called with the same set of instructions, even using macros. Even if you include conditionals within t…

@sdedalus1 Oxford Art Journal style extra title bug is now fixed

Use "suppress author" option in the Word plugin.

All these bugs are fixed on the dev branch and in the version of the Chicago Author-Date style available from the Dev Styles section at http://www.zotero.org/styles/ The public style will be automatically updated when 1.0.4 comes out (should be soo…

mark - The other thread refers to a different problem. APA and MLA do require an extra break between bibliography entries, so I didn't change anything in those styles. The question of using "entry-spacing" settings vs Word styles in the other thread…

To have no extra lines, you need to add the following option to your bibliography layout: This is now done in all Chicago styles--you can download from the Dev Styles section at http://www.zotero.org/styles/ Chicago note styles will only work with…

Bruce-- It may make sense for you as the CSL lead to write something like an open letter to major style guide organizations--MLA, BlueBook, Chicago--asking to make their standards more, well, standard and reasonable--i.e. abolish archaic Latin abbr…

The problem is it's rather inflexible. It works in this case, but are there other cases of multiple roles? Well, in the case of producer and director, only the director will be cited anyway. In cases like "translated and with introduction by" Chicag…

I'm having a hard time ATM seeing an easy way to add explicit rules for collapsing roles here. How about adding creator role "ed. and trans." both in Zotero and CSL? A user would only have to enter the creator once then.

Currently, when I drag&drop items into word the formated citation (name (1993): Titel. journal...) is inserted. This is certainly a very helpful thing. When I am writing a text, however, it would be helpful to drop&drop the in-text reference…

Composite items such as images in magazines will be addressed in the future hierarchical item types system.
-
thanks--this is now fixed in the dev note styles.

It seems that Chicago style adds and extra space before the "trans." and ".ed" Can you give me an example? I also can't get the bibliography to automatically "———" a repeated author's name. This is fixed in the dev build and will be available in Z …

this has been fixed on the dev branch--the fix will be available in Z 1.0.4

Yup, it's possible to annotate files stored outside of Zotero--see instructions. So if your media file doesn't open in Firefox but you still want to store and annotate it in Zotero, you can import it into Zotero by dragging it over a parent item, …
