The new advanced search (currently in Zotero beta) makes it seamless to search across two or more collections. I use tags and saved searches to separate my sources into projects. This makes errors less likely to happen than with manual collection…

P.S. Sorry for not starting a new discussion, when it was requested in the original announcement!
-
@dstillman The same in troubleshooting mode. Debug ID D308356251.
-
+1 for editing creators in batches.

Thank you so much, this is amazing! When there are no records found, I get the message that I have an empty database which I do not (see image). Otherwise, works great! https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u40/lcy5ug0xfdp1eq8u20nw.png

Me too! I would also like an AI-free up-to-date version of Zotero to be always available.
-
The citation processor seems to convert U+2018/2019 but U+201B stays in single quotes. Nice workaround, thanks!
-
@adamsmith But this is incorrect, in any style. I do want Chicago English (US). "Rock 'n' Roll" is spelled with single quotes in US English.
-
Use the button next to Filename to rename.

Thanks!

I guess this has been happening before Zotero 8 and has been requested in the past: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/37831/show-creators-first-name-in-addition-to-last-name-in-the-middle-pane https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/106042/creator-…

Great, thanks!
-
@dstillman Thank you for making Zotero flexible on renaming/displaying attachments.
-
@dstillman @emilianoeheyns So what will be the procedure for pinning citation keys in Zotero 8? Sorry if I missed this in the thread(s). The new features in Zotero 8 are awesome (Thanks!) but I do need the pinned keys so I will wait to upgrade.

@dunning Belated thanks! This is great news. I will switch to your Chicago styles then. Thank you so much for all your work on this.
-
@dunning Ok, then I will wait for CMOS reply and use my rigged style in the meantime.
-
@dunning I revised your style to create my own that cites magazine articles with full dates. I guess no one else cares about this so no need to investigate further. Thank you.
-
@dunning Thank you for writing to the CMOS team. I believe the 18th edition is quite clear on this matter, but thank you for double-checking. If you decide not to make this change, please post your decision on the forum. In that case, I will make my…

@dunning - I looked at CMOS 18 closely and here are the requirements: 14.64 "Indispensable for newspapers and most magazines is the specific date (month, day, and year)." 14.65 "A magazine is a weekly or monthly (or sometimes daily) periodical [..…

It would be better to leave it up to the user to choose "magazine" or "journal" to format the citation, rather than make the formatting dependent on the data. Here are some arguments: 1. Citations for major magazines imported from online databases …

When a magazine article item has a volume and number entered in Zotero, the new Chicago 18 CSL styles cite it as a journal article--a year instead of a full date in parentheses, and volume and number included. This is incorrect according to the late…

Here is a video of the troubleshooting mode. The cursor is actually flashing faster in reality, so I can't see either the arrow or the vertical line. I think the animated gif converter deleted frames so it is more difficult to see the fast flashing,…
-
Yes, it's the same flashing cursor.
-
Thank you!
-
Amazing! Thank you very much.

Here is what happens when you don't have a "year" column in search results. Here I am searching for several versions of a governance document that was revised over the years. https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u40/6skm3ba3mfzw21gfmnq…

Thanks!

Here is a gif showing what happens: https://s3.amazonaws.com/zotero.org/images/forums/u40/7vtrh3r29dlhb178bpvx.gif

Ok, I sent the file, thank you.
