for mappings, look here: https://www.zotero.org/trac/browser/extension/branches/1.0/chrome/content/zotero/xpcom/cite.js

4. The ability to nest numbered lists, for mini-outlines. If I use paragraph indent button in a numbered outline, I seem to get nested outlines--don't you?

You can put your own info about the doc into the abstract field--it is not part of the citation. The title will always come up in citation. Chicago styles format manuscripts correctly; not sure about other styles. Your "Jon to Jane" example seems mo…

1. Show the citation of the item rather than all the detail in rows. That would be great. 2. Make showing attachments and notes optional. I almost always want to see these, but I could see cases where I don't. Type "about:config" in the location bar…

@dan This option may still be useful after the translator problem is fixed because it lets users omit URLS while the CSL still conforms to style guidelines. Many styles used to require URLs for database articles but now consider them optional. For e…

Follow these instructions carefully and your report will display notes independently from sources and sorted by the dates that you put in the beginning of each note: http://www.zotero.org/documentation/reports#using_reports_to_organize_your_not…

A "sub verbo" locator is now added to the dev xpi and the trunk. It will be available in 1.0.8 soon. You can use "s.v." with OED entered as a book item to achieve correct citation, as above (which is recommended by CMS 15th ed. as well). The p…

Chicago Manual of Style 15th ed., 17.12: "Access dates in online source citations are of limited value, since previous versions will often be unavailable to readers (not to mention that an author may have consulted several revisions across any numb…

PS It would already help a bit, if - when you open the Zotero window, the last entered reference is shown automatically. Just sort your items by date added, descending.

Try Chicago Library List style under Additional Styles at http://www.zotero.org/styles

I agree with Bruce. Many have requested this from the very few months of the first release, about two years ago. Personally, I don't see how sorting the notes would be more important, though it also would be useful. Well, ticket 439 for rich text al…

You can't sort attachments, nor bibliographic items. That's just not true--child items are not sortable independently of parents, but parents are certainly sortable--in the middle column, by author, date, title, etc. Sorting notes/attachments by tit…

?sort=note shouldn't be necessary in Zotero 1.0.5 or later. Is there a case where it still appears to be? That's correct--sorts by title/first line in note just fine automatically for me--sorry I forgot about that.
-
@bruce: This feature is already available--see description here: http://www.zotero.org/documentation/reports#using_reports_to_organize_your_notes
-
Bruce--I'm also looking forward to rich text and semantic markup in notes (not least because this may provide a standard way to include and export locator information for the note). That said, a piece of software (especially open source software) sh…

This doesn't seem to be possible with advanced search. The easiest way to achieve this is to have certain tags apply to child items only, then create a saved search on the tag and check "Include parent items of matching items." Name the saved search…

I don't agree. For me there are many higher priorities, even WRT to notes. bdarcus: I'm also curious how you came up with this conclusion? Judging from the forums, this is the one notes feature users have been demanding strongly and for a long tim…

Note that such reports don't seem to order the resulting notes by their titles, which makes excessive zero-adding even more unnecessary. They do if you append "?sort=note" to the url.
-
Just control-click on the saved search folder and select "Create Report from Saved Search." (This assumes you have already created a saved search on tag="Chapter 1.")

This error is now fixed--you can install new versions from Dev Styles section at http://www.zotero.org/styles

Yes, some other Chicago styles are also affected. This will be fixed shortly--thanks for reporting this.
-
You can start each note with a date--for example, start note about January 1, 1776 with "17760101"--and then sort by note. Or you can use "document" item type to create timelines, but then you might have to link notes as "related items" to the "docu…

What do you mean by "chronological order"? To sort notes in reports by "date added," add "?sort=dateAdded" in the end of the report url ("extensions.zotero.report.combineChildItems" should be set to "false"). That said, it would be great to get t…

I tried Chicago note w/o bibliography and I get no such errors. What version of Zotero are you using?
-
"Film" and "Video Recording" map to "motion_picture" with "book" as a fallback.
-
What item type are you trying to cite?
-
Select the file, click "Show File" in the right pane. A finder window will open --drag the file into your email message. This works with Apple Mail--not sure about McMail.
-
joh--Here are some file syncing directions--looks like you have to use a service that accepts https:// urls.
-
a wildcard SSL certificate ... which, at least currently, requires whitelisting via Firefox before you can use it with Zotero. So you can load that URL in Firefox, accept the wildcard cert, and then return to Zotero. ... Zotero doesn't handle redire…

Are you using a Chicago Style? Chicago lists multiple authors--are you sure you've entered every author in the db?
