But here I'm not sure that these are published-- they just have been assigned an ISBN, which doesn't necessarily mean that a print run was done and the theses have been distributed as the latest volume in the ongoing Acta series. Yes, this is a key …

I don't follow. If it's a thesis, and a style has a thesis style rule, why would the fact that the thesis happens to have an ISBN and series cause the user to need to cite it using a book style rule? A user citing these theses as books is in fact ma…

may I ask why? Book is an often used item type, and normally doesn't include type in citations, so i think adding type would be confusing. But I don't feel strongly about this. So if adding type/genre to books creates too many problems in citation s…

have you tried using Report? It has the type field. [edit] I just realized report doesn't have ISBN field. But I'd rather add ISBN to report than add type to book.

I can confirm this. Ticket created.

This is now partially fixed, but these citations cannot be formatted exactly because of limitations in Zotero and CSL. A Multivolume Work Long footnote Adolf Harnack, History of Dogma (trans. Neil Buchanan; 7 vols.; Boston: Little, Brown & Co.,…

This is now fixed; the updated style should be available shortly from the styles page.

this is now fixed on the trac--not sure when it's supposed to show up on the styles page (i added another condition because of the way interviews have to be cited when the interviewer's name is not given).

Is it now possible to sync a collection of this size: 33416 items; zotero.sqlite=250.1 MB? My storage folder by the way is 10.71 GB, above your maximum storage offering. :) I would love to experiment with getting this up to the server, not for back…

SBL is modified Chicago and is overdue for a bunch of fixes. I can do these but there was a link on the forums to the original SBL manual I can't find now. Can someone repost it?

o Chicago Manual of Style (Note without Bibliography) I would probably take out "Note without Bibliograph" - I just don't see the added use of that - three CMOs should be enough. I agree. Another option would be to delete this style from Additional …

Desirable features for Zotero, especially as they primarily benefit a specific user group, are much more likely to come around if someone from that user group makes a concerted effort. Right. That would of course be best.

Adam-- Frank Bennett - a legal scholar - has volunteered what must by now be hundreds of hours of his time and his considerable skill to advance these things. I'm sure no one would complain if a historian or literary scholar were to put in a compara…

I'm not in a hurry to see it happen today, but I hope Zotero will implement the tickets linked from this thread eventually. This is not a matter of bibliographic management vs. notetaking--Zotero is already more than a bibliographic management too…

Worked for me too--many thanks!

I have the same problem, tried disabling extensions--didn't work. Tried option 2--Debug ID is D1794188934. I also have the output from the console if that doesn't work. My db may be too big to go with option 1. Let me know what else I can do.

BIBO has a much wider scope (is in fact more-or-less a superset of Zotero's model). People, places, containers and collections are all treated as discrete things, which facilitates describing and discovering new patterns and relationships, which is …

This and other Patent issues were described in a ticket in February 2009.

I don't really understand why Zotero has a "contributor" role; seems too vague to be of any use. Exactly for cases such as this one--one cannot predict all possible creator roles for various item types, including those imported from online databases…

Well, it would be great to cover both a place of writing and the destination address (see example below). How about "event-place" for place where the letter was written, and "recipient-place" for destination? Percy Bysche Shelley, Padua, to Mary Wo…

Suggestions for a person/agent item type exist in forums and in a ticket. One suggestion was to add fields/functionality to the creator table instead of adding a new item type. As for address, it is required for citing letters and interviews in Chi…

Issue field is for issue number only. You should get the correct citation by simply entering "Summer 1990" in the date field--the following is the result for me: Fones-Wolf, Elizabeth A. 1999. Creating a Favorable Business Climate: Corporations and…

Thank you!

Frank--Many thanks! I don't think I could have changed the code to put punctuation within the title macro (it's actually a group delimiter rather than a prefix)--this would break the code for several oddball item types.

This is a known issue--it only occurs in article titles. Should be easy to fix.

Chicago: They want you to buy their book; http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/CMS_FAQ/YouCouldLookItUp/YouCouldLookItUp03.html But the crib sheet here gives you an idea: http://www.docstyles.com/cmscrib.htm The official CMS 15 guide doesn't have an …

There is already a ticket for this. See also the following forum threads: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3999/series-abbreviations/ http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/5635/cms-series-abbreviation-field/ http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/265…

I was trying to come up with a complex hierarchy of collections and subcollections so that I could make my library easily browsable (not searchable since that requires too many clicks) by journal title, volume, and issue and came up with this idea a…
